listening to the radio the morning about Houston's schools roughly 50% dropout rate.. Some talking head gets on there (school admin or 'state official') and gives some stats about how dropouts make less money than college educated people.. blah blah and then here is the kicker:

She says "they need a diploma or college degree to become productive members of society". that phrase in itself didnt flag my perception until later when she said "the state loses "tax income" when these people can't earn as much $$!!! and the state doesnt get a "return" on their "investment" in the school system. I guess paying more taxes is a way to measure your personal productivity nowadays......,

Should states look at education systems and a means of "investment"? I know what my liberty leaning friends will probably say to this. But for someone to say 'training people so that they can earn more and pay more taxes' sounds alot like slavery to me

To me this is one example of how the gov't through the media infiltrates many peoples minds with "the benefits" of large government

Propaganda is a powerful tool indeed.

I think the MAIN thing there is that this woman (and everyone who agrees with her) thoroughly believes in the statist/socialist/communist concept that people are simply "worker drones" that are owned/belong to "the state" -- any concept of people as "people" with any REAL individual rights is utterly lost.

Oh, and look at the "elitist" view that "productivity" somehow consists of submitting to even MORE indoctrination in order to get a special piece of paper which then magically transforms that person into a "productive" member of society.

But I'd be willing to bet you that this very same woman is totally unable to: 1) change the oil in her car. 2) fix broken plumbing or furnace in her home. 3) patch or repair the roof on her home. 4) grow anything more than a pittance of her own food. 5) do anything else that is TRULY considered "productive" outside of her little pundit/journalist/academic circles. 6) And finally... that if you dropped her in the woods with even basic tools and a map (but no cell phone or GPS) -- she'd be dead within days.

In short, if the SHTF the only way this woman will survive is if she can be a part of the establishment/government and be supported by thugs & thieves.
