During his original 2002 campaign, Emanuel "indicated his support of President Bush's position on Iraq, but said he believed the president needed to better articulate his position to the American people."

So Obama is "against" the war and his Chief of Staff is a neocon who supported the Iraq War!?

Now that is what I call "change" :(

Emanuel is noted for his strong style....Lolz - I suppose that sounds better than "he's known for being a royal prick."

Well, he supported the Iraq War. He strong ties to Israel if you read the Wiki in the first post on this thread so he will probably have their interests in mind.

I remember him from after the bailout. After he voted for the bailout he blamed the crisis on the free-market capitalism. He is an idiot.

You seriously did not just say that. So presiden'ts should only be from Tennessee eating BBQ?I didn't say anything about the President. And I only asked a question because I had heard someone talking about it at lunch that the new Chief of Staff was Muslim. That's the only reason I asked about it.

It was Rep. Emanuel who introduced (http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/06/04/1110744.aspx) (now) President-elect Obama to AIPAC's Executive Board. He was also the one who led the Democrats to victory (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/08/AR2006110802239.html) in 2006. And, apparently, his goal is to become Speaker of the House (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0708/11782.html) so we'll have to wait and see if he even accepts the position his close friend is offering him (likely).

Rep. Emanuel strikes me as someone who will be a very capable and efficient Chief of Staff. He'll be good for the Obama Administration ...but good for the future well-being of the country? Time will tell. ;)
