Does anyone have statistics on how well or poorly congressional and senatorial incumbents performed? It's probably the best argument over the absurd assertation of "Americans voted for change, and change is what they'll get" BS.

I'd like to be able to say, "Well if Americans really wanted change, why did they re-elect X% of congress that had an 11% approval rating?"

As I understand it, that X% was pretty high. I'd just like to have the accurate number. Thanks.

I am saddened to report that ALL of the Congressional incumbents in Georgia won by large margins.

On the bright side, it's looking like Saxby Chambliss WILL have to have a run-off with Jim Martin this December. He got less than 50% of the vote + 1.

We might have to figure this number ourselves. I doubt the story fits the MSM spin.

Oklahoma: Six national office incumbents on the ballot, six reelected. Four of those voted for the bailout. :(

As I like to say:

Congressional approval rate: Under 10%
Congressional incumbent reelection rate: Over 90%

We're apparently unclear on the concept.

Every single incumbent was reelected in NJ, including Reps and a Senator.

I'd also be interested in seeing the percentage. I'll bet anything it's in the 90s....
