View Full Version : RPF Petition for BJ Lawson to Run in 2010

It wasn't just BJ who lost NC's 4th district, it was all of us. BJ may have been the guy that was going to go to Washington, but we were all fighting for that seat together!

2008 was essentially an impossible win. Republicans have been wiped out all over the country. If BJ managed to win in 2008, it would be such an upset that it would make national news for being one of the only congressional racse where a Republican beat an incumbent Democrat. If it was Augustus Cho running instead... would Price have gotten at least 80%?

There is hope for us in 2010 or the general future:

The Democratic Party will became less popular within time of having control over everything.
BJ's name recognition is now MUCH higher compared to when we started.
David Price used a lot of his PAC money in 2008... how long can he keep doing that?
Daivd Price is getting older (and more tired in theory).
Campaign experience and a message sent out!
If history repeats itself, the Republican Party will become more popular with time.

Bill Clinton was elected with a Democratic congress as well. This showed people how bad their policies were and it created the Republican Revolution where tons of Republicans (like Bob Barr) were elected. In fact, the last Republican to win NC's 4th district was elected during this time! So we can wait for the next one! Click here to see the numbers on how well we did compared to Republicans in years before. (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=166969)

Please post in this thread to sign this RPF "petition". We need as many people to post / sign here as possible! BJ does visit this forum from time to time, so let's show him that we aren't about to give up on NC's 4th district!

Well, i guess if Ron Paul is running in 3008 (ronpaul3008.com), BJ should run in 20120.

typo fixed, lol

One more district reserved for a lover of liberty, and only 433 to go! Who else?! Step up to the plate...

Lawson is great but it makes no sense to run as the minority in a heavily gerrymandered district.

BJ Lawson can count on my support in 2010, but let's give him a chance to catch his breathe first. I have a sneaking suspicion he hasn't had a full night's sleep in a while.

I'm In. And i think Lawson is too.

What other reason would B.J. have for renting out a storage place for hundreds of "Lawson for Congress" Signs? He pretty much gave it away in that video.

District 4, Alabama has my name on it. It won't be until 2012, but I have full intentions on running for it.

waste of time this time waste of time next time. How about we look at the numbers closely and help get people up and running in places where Dems won seats from Reps this round. Then narrow it down to places where reps lost that Ron Paul did well in.

BJ has my full support, though I know he's already planning to run again. We need to stay vocal over the next two years and make sure everyone stays involved with BJ and the other liberty candidates.

Yeah maybe if Price retires. If not, he should run for something a bit more, you know, winnable. If he spent 10x the amount of money a normal Price opponent spends and can't crack 40%, what makes you think 15x more money will make much a difference?

There is no hope for politics at the federal level. We must stop wasting our resources on something that has proven over and over again to be futile. Consider striving for freedom in our lifetime, see my signature.

It'll be far less expensive for Lawson next time. He has a lot of name recognition now, and has a lot of materials (if people picked up the signs...).

that said .. 8th District of NC is another one that needs serious attention starting now.

A Democrat (a somewhat liberty minded and conservative Democrat) defeated the incumbent Republican Robin Hayes. It'll be a very tough race for the Democrats....

I thought the distribution of Constitutions by BJ was a mistake....passing out more slim jims would have made more sense....slim jims are cheaper and would have drained less campaign cash

Yes, I agree and defend the Constitution and wish the government would obey it but it's not written in plain and easy to understand English...I am sure most people he gave them to either didn't read the whole Constitution or did not fully understand all of the complicated legal language of the Constitution.

They say the Constitutions worked there. But neither of us were canvassing, so you can't say that.

The best way would be to have an actual petition. Some forum thread isn't going to get him to run again. :)

A draftbjlawson.com website would be good.

I think BJ is in a great position to run again. In 2008 he had so much going against him. By 2010 he'll have another two years of Democrat ineffectualness, and increased name recognition which will serve to bring in more undecideds and independent voters. BJ should absolutely run again! I would max out in contributions to him!

Would he run against Rep. Price again for the House, or would he consider going after the Senate seat that's up in 2010? http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?State=NC

I don't know much about the incumbent Sen. Richard Burr, but http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14196.html shows that he voted for TARP; that's enough for him to deserve to lose his seat.

No, don't push him into a Senate Raise. He's worked his District now. Now he needs to work it again. We really need him to run again. I could really win this time.
