Rand Paul predicted that at least one of our candidates would be elected, and Tom McClintock has just BARELY beat Charlie Brown.

He's no Lawson, but at least we got another friend for Ron Paul in congress.

It is not over. They still have to count the mail in ballots

they're confident of being ahead in those but it's still very close

Tom McClintock is pretty conservative. I don't think you'll need to worry about him. The hard part is getting him to vote for ANY spending, but maybe that's needed now in Washington.

Why would you want him to vote for spending?

The true test is whether or not he votes for war spending.

I am happy that McClintock won, but I want Rand to run in 2010. I think that if he starts preparing soon he could win a seat from Kentucky.

I voted for McClintock when he ran against Schwarzenegger for Governor.

where can I see these results? He was running in a very conservative area -- how could he not win....

the Democratic machine poured a huge amount of money into that district.

McClintock has been awesome in state politics in California. This is a BIG win for conservatives, amid all the disappointments with Lawson, Barletta, etc. losing. I could really see McClintock become a rising star in the Republican House. He's been fighting it out in the most liberal state in the nation for years. If he had taken over as governor instead of Arnold the state would absolutely not be bankrupt. In fact, they'd most likely be sitting on a surplus by now. He is that kind of conservative.

One other good note, sort of. Duncan Hunter's son, also named Duncan, won the seat his dad vacated. This is at least better than another Democrat.

Rand also predicted that the GOP would get slaughtered. I think most of us saw that coming, too.
