Note: I was planning on posting this thread whether McCain or Obama won.

The first thing I want to say is that we need to stop bickering amongst ourselves about who voted for who RIGHT NOW. I don't care if you voted third party or if you voted for the lesser of two evils. The election is over now, and if we want to change the future, we need to stop fighting over the past. So please, let's just put all that behind us and focus on the future.

Moving on...what the hell do we do now to further the rEVOLution? I promise you that a year from now the majority of people will not be happy with Obama at all. Joe Biden said it himself. This means we will have at least one more opportunity to have a major influence on the people of this country.

For the past two days, I've noticed there has been a LOT of activity on these forums, at least 3 or 4 times as much as usual. Now that the election is over, are most of you going to forget about our country's descent into socialism and return to your regular habits, or are you going to keep yourselves informed about everything that's going on and take the time to get involved in the movement and work toward a brighter future?

In the past people have said, "We need to think about our children's future." Well, we ARE the children, and we need to think about OUR future. This is Very Urgent. If you want to make a difference, there is a great subforum here called Grassroots Projects. And if you have any thoughts about the future of the movement, feel free to respond.

What is the future of the movement? You. Me. Everybody here. Everybody that hears our message, and believes, although maybe not as passionate as those of us that frequent this board everyday to further our education and understanding in the ideals of liberty. The candidates who will run in 2010, 2012, and every year beyond that, along with the supporters of those candidates. What do we do? We run for office. We keep educating ourselves. We keep converting people every day. And we stay ready for anything.

I don't post here often, but I visit many times a day. The future could be very bright for this movement, or very dark. It's up to everybody here to make the choice. The time is now to get this going. We can't wait till the next elections, we have to stay strong, and work hard all the way to 2012.

Why are my threads so ignored? Is the idea of not wasting time fighting about who we voted for, the idea that people should frequent this forum every day rather than only around election time, and the idea that we should all abandon some of our hobbies/favorite TV shows/other BS in exchange for work for the rEVOLution so frightening that people are too scared to even respond?

Edit: I suppose I'll just relax and give this thread more time and bump it occasionally. I've been enslaved, so I really need to go to bed so I can get up tomorrow and spend the first half of my day working for my family's future and the second half of my day working for the government. :(

Well, I just filed a petition to recall the mayor of New Orleans. I'm hoping that it can catch some attention.

I guess that our next move should be to turn our efforts locally, and hope for Gary Johnson in 2012.

2 years ago we didn't have anything. Today we have many thousands if not millions who are committed to the cause at some level. This movement doesn't end with the 2008 election. There are state and local elections EVERY YEAR that have relevance. I have conversations with friends and acquaintances EVERY DAY about the role of government and the Constitution.

Each time you introduce someone to the ideas of liberty it's like winning a small election.

Look, if you believe in this stuff, then you believe it, regardless of who sits in the White House, or what year it happens to be, or how likely it is that your guy might win an election. You might as well stay active and keep chipping away. I can't understand how anyone who is passionate about the principles defining Ron's run for the White House could live with themselves if they gave up now. Disappointed? Yes. Resigned? Never. That's how tyranny wins.

It took decades of propaganda and indoctrination to get the American people to willingly surrender their freedom. The damage will not be undone overnight or in one election cycle. But you can't win if you quit the game.
