Feel free to explain your choice, or not.

Montana. It's relatively unpopulated, warm, and already has a decent libertarian base.

No point in talking about it though, there can be only one state we can make a real difference in and it's going to be NH.

Believe it or not, this isn't the first time I've thought about a place where I could be among others who feel as I do about subjects of liberty and individual rights. But it would have to be a new country, I think. Maybe we've just lost this country and there's nothing else that can be said about that.

Sometimes I think this would be a good idea... sometimes I think if we DID all get together, it'd be easier for the gubmint to round us all up at once! I'm torn.

I think someplace warm would be good. I dislike heating bills and being cold.

Warm would be good. But not too warm. Or my wife might not make it. :p

TOO LATE! NH was the pick (it's too late to suggest someplace a little warmer).

BTW, IMO Illinois really needs to be scraped bare and then remade into a "free state".
There is supporting evidence, see election results map.
I'm bracing to hear about the higher 2010 ballot access petition sig requirments for the LP.

I'm curious, what besides the like-minded people that already live there makes NH a good place? I'm not saying that doesn't count for something, but what about natural resources and such? If a state was to truly secede it would have to at the very least be somewhat self-sustaining, because it would be cut off from trade with the Union to a great degree. I don't know squat about any of the states listed besides WV and GA. I included Georgia due to it's access to the ocean, but if Georgia seceded it would probably have to take Florida with it. West Virginia was listed due to its abundance of game, coal, and high ground, as well as it's proximity to Canada. Obstacles can be overcome, but it is always wise to remove as many as you can to begin with. Maybe I am looking too deep though.

I was thinkin that northern AZ would be pretty good. Not CO, there are way too many weanie socialist-libs here now.

Texas has benefits - like, certain legal maneuvers built into the original contract to enter the union that other states don't have. That being said - groups the gov't doesn't like don't tend to fare well in this state if history is any indication.
