This was expected to be a fairly close race but expected to swing to Walberg (Hate him, but he helps prevent a Dem. super majority and voted against the bailout) by 3-5%. He's now at just 47% (compared to Schauer's 49%) with over 15% of the district reporting!

Within the current political climate we might as well face the fact 'republican' is a four letter word deserving nothing but punishment. The population of the electorate is out for revenge. They aren't voting for values or ideas. They are voting to punish the party they used to trust. One doesn't punish the republicans by electing them or their libertarian counterparts. One punishes the republican party by electing democrats.

I know several people, friends and coworkers who voted a straight democrat ballot just to 'show the man who's boss'.

I didn't realize Marky Mark took such an interest in politics.
