I wouldn't expect a win. Incumbents almost always win.

What the hell is wrong with you?

You sure you were ever a Ron Paul supporter? BJ winning could have been the one bright spot in this whole fucking election for us Paul supporters. If the GOP were to see that the one gain they made was with a RP Republican, they just may have paid heed.

In your head, just imagine that I called you every name in the book. Because I did.

I guess those internal polls were bullshit.

Lawson picked a difficult race. There is the 'vote the party' option. Price is a 20 year incumbent. The District is notoriously Democrat.

A better District to target may have been like FL 7th. It is 50% Republican, 25% Democrat, 25% Independent. Like the race he is in the Democrat challenger has no chance against the Republican. The last serious Democrat challenger in 2004 spent $5M of his own money and got 35% of the vote. The primary has about 7% turnout so he would need about 12,000 total votes. He would get about 8,000 just from having his name come before the current incumbent. The other 4,000 could have been won with supporter help and causing political pain (http://www.runtogold.com/Run_To_Gold/Run_To_Gold_Blog/Entries/2008/10/25_Causing_Political_Pain.html) which would have been harder (primary is end of August so the bailout hadn't been passed yet).

The bottom line is that politics in America pretty much works the way it was intended by the Founding Fathers to work. The Revolution needs to get serious about learning how to cause political pain (http://www.runtogold.com/Run_To_Gold/Run_To_Gold_Blog/Entries/2008/10/25_Causing_Political_Pain.html). We can start winning some races but it will take a lot of passion and intelligent strategy.

No shit. That fucking bastard needs to pack up his office and leave after 20 years of getting 1 bill passed.

It looks like Lou Barletta may be the only Republican in the whole nation to unseat a Democrat incumbent in the House. Barletta is running on immigration and the bailout fiasco versus his opponent who is terrible on both.

Lawson has some issues I disagree with him on, but I'm still very disappointed in these results. Hopefully there is still some hope for Lawson??

I expect something like 38-42%. Lawson has a lot of potential. He ought to be running until that old fuck retires or is forced out.

I wanted him(and Flat Top Bob to win) but I'm an optimist. Here we have something we can grow on. In a year that Democrats are taking in leaps and bounds because of the GOP's missteps, a political newcomer has gotten 120000 plus votes so far;35%; against a powerful 20 year incumbent. Hold your head high friends, regardless of the outcome!:)

This is good news. It would be interesting to look at the demographics of the voters who voted for Lawson.
