They always do this its based off election polls. They did it all through primaries.

The communist news media does that so the people who still have several hours to vote on the west coast will give up if they are waiting to vote for mccain. tones (they did the same thing in 2004...said Kerry was winning which was a fat lie)

McCain is ahead by 5 in the electoral college.

As for the original question posed: it's called exit polling, and do you really think Obama was going to lose Vermont?

My question is why they haven't called N.H.

Yeah, bullshit is pretty much everywhere.

Please try to dispose of it properly.

When is the last time that Vermont went to the Republicans?

I think Obama is so far ahead in the polls there that there's no way that McCain is going to take that state. Heck, they have a real live Socialist in Congress.

As for the original question posed: it's called exit polling, and do you really think Obama was going to lose Vermont?

i understand exit polling but if they are going to determine who wins by polls then why cast a ballot? In fact why vote at all? Hasn't Obama been "leading in the polls" for months?

The official vote is the ballot and if they are saying Obama has won and ALL sites have even put the 3 electoral votes next to his name, then it discredits the entire process. Is it really so hard to just wait until the precincts report, then show the results?

Sure Obama is likely to win the state but that isn't the point.

Don't people start to scratch their head when states are called with 1-2% reporting, or in this case 0% reporting?

I think TONES is right when he says that they do it to show a candidate performing better than he actually is, thereby discouraging voters in other states.
