View Full Version : For all those who voted for Obama/McCain... Sam Adams has a few words for you.

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

And John Quincy, too: "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone; and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."

Those words were great in their time. If we had 40 to 50% of the population behind us I'd agree with them. However we're at the edge of a precipice McCain may give us a nudge towards the edge but Obama will push us over. Unless you have a firm belief in resurrection I suggest you vote for the nudge not the fatal push.

That Sam Adams quote is a killer. So devastating.

The fatal push will lead us to the rebirth we are looking for...
Your estimates of nudge and push may be a bit off... I see both of them voting for bailouts... both supporting an income tax.... both supporting policing the world, both supporting the patriot act and spying on their citizens... etc.
The R and D thing has you confused. Just put a D behind McCain's name and then look at his policies again.
He makes john kerry look conservative... and he was willing to be kerry's VP if you remember...

You want to document your betrayal of the revolution?

You're a strange person.

torchbearer, there is much more to this election than simply politics as usual. McCain would have to contend with an opposing House and Senate Obama will not. To my knowledge McCain has not proposed a civilian security corps to help police America. McCain was not raised as a Muslim and he was open and above board as to his natural born citizenship. Obama WAS raised as a Muslim and is unwilling to have anyone look at his actual birth certificate. The voters have a good idea of McCain's past and his voting record however they have no corresponding knowledge of Obama. McCain is open to inspection but Obama is very secretive. Secretive people that I cannot get information on do not inspire confidence in me.

Virgil47, stop trying to rationalize your stupid decision. Yes, we realize Obama is horrible, but so is McCain. That's why we didn't vote for either. You are a traitor, leave us be. You are of no use to us.

You do know there is a forum, actually a lot of forums for mccain supporters on the WWW. You should check them out and stay there until you finally figure out how fucked up they are.

Having McCain vs. the Dems is a "weak argument" -Ron Paul

The reason it is a weak argument is because in Washington, "compromise" means that the Republicans get to add a bunch of shit to the bill only if the Democrats get to add a bunch of shit. As you can imagine, that has been just as disastrous as any party monopoly.

also... Obama was not "raised a Muslim" though he did go to a school that was primarily Muslim (very softcore Muslim at that)

I was a delegate for Ron Paul at our Republican convention. We lost! Get over it! If you vote for anyone other than McCain you have just voted for a new socialist country ... The U.S.S.R.. If Obama should win those of you that voted for anyone other than McCain can apply to join the new civilian security corps he wants to start. Or perhaps you could start cutting wood for a living when he bans coal.

Here's some more great wisdom: "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."
