Consumer Bankruptcies exploding...Banks cant lend due to the risk.....the only way the new money will get into the economy will be direct government spending .."tax rebates"...wars, social programs etc...

Comrades Obama and Bernanke will have to print and spend into circulation next year....2009 will be a very ugly year...recession AND inflation...and showdown with Russia....

Chicken and egg. Many of these companies are folding only because they have to run close enough to the margin (to keep up with the competition) that occasionally they have to borrow to meet deadlines for payroll and such. So, the credit crunch is what is killing them, not their own inherent failures of policy.

As for the banks, Chase said outright the other day that they're sitting on theirs specifically so they'd have a war chest for hostile takeovers.

The truth of the matter is that the big fish know a good excuse to eat the small fish when they see one.
