so today when i got back from voting, the folks at my campus (missouri state university) tried to give me a Obama sticker and i told them i was no fan of socialism.

and ironically

this kid goes "well im not either but i like healthcare and i like the government giving me money instead of the rich"

i was flabbergasted to see just how ignorant the youth truly is.......

I just hope and pray these little fuckfaces dont vote, because they will turn us into new france and piss on personal responsibility.

Well, the kid put his finger right on the heart of the matter. "I hate wasteful government spending but I voted for the biggest earmark artist in Congress because if I don't, everyone will get pork but my neighbors and I and we'll still have to pay for it." "I hate paying all this in taxes but I voted for a tax-and-spend Democrat because at least he'll pay us instead of the rich."

Just as logical as any other 'lesser of evils' type argument. And just as much a part of the problem.

In order to pull this revolution off, we can't just preach the advantages of smaller federal government. We have to find a way to prevent this sort of local pork so that the 'if we don't, they will and they'll use our money to do it' argument fails.

In that case, get a group together and start handing out third party flyers! Outdo those Obama people! Hold up signs that read Nobama!

My point was actually much more about House and Senate races.

McCain signed the bailout. McCain is a wolf in a cheapo sheep's costume. I think Obama is a wolf in a wolf costume.

I think a lot of the youth don't understand how our government works. They've been dependent on their parents essentially since birth. They naturally look for someone to take care of them. They only start to learn after they start working and paying taxes. You can blame the public school system for not teaching them properly. Which is probably good information for us. We need to start educating children when they're young, so they won't be so brainwashed when they get a little older (and can then make stupid voting mistakes).

I got into an argument at lunch which resulted in people looking over at us arguing, and me just getting up and walking out after realizing nothing I said was going to make this girl realize Obama is a Marxist...

Good thing about my campus is that it does seem to be split, and in my genetics class we were talking about 'Barr bodies,' and someone said 'I know Bob Barr!' :D
