Even though he was only available as a write-in, I ended up voting for Chuck Baldwin. I wouldn't have voted for Barr, even if he was on the ballot in Ct. and there is no way in hell I'd vote for Nader.

Fortunately, Chuck DID fill in the write-in paperwork for Ct. so the vote will be counted. :D

Sematary, my voting place uses electronic voting machines, so I was wondering how I do a write-in vote? Do I have to request a paper form from someone working there?

They will have the candidates listed and then below those it will have a selection for "write in".

You click on it and it'll bring up a keyboard on the screen.

I used to always write my own name in for offices that I didn't want to vote for either candidate using the electronic machine.

It was hard to fight the urge to write in Ron Paul, but I did it. I went with Bob Barr.

I don't know. We have the optical scanners here so I was able to fill in write-in then write in Chuck Baldwin's name.

I'm with you. Watching a bunch of Ron Paul videos beforehand probably didn't help. Voting for Robert Owens for Ohio Attorney General made me feel better about the situation though.

Will those votes be counted in Florida? It's the only reason I didn't write him in here - the vote would be discarded.

Bob Barr - Only 3rd Party on Ballot. Very hard to get on in GA.

Baldwin, Nader, and McKinney eligible for write-in but I wanted the rest of the country to SEE my two party opposition vote.

I didn't think they would show the write-ins. Hopefully they'll show more than just McCain and Obama votes.

On Diebolds, the option for write ins is on screen, then it lets you type in your choice....

Did that this morning for RON PAUL.

I voted for Bob Barr. I saw no easy way of writing in a vote, and wasn't about to waste time making a big deal about it. I'll still be able to sleep tonight.

I also voted against 'Bailout' Joe Sestak.

Thanks for the info on Sestak - I wasn't aware he voted for the bailout. I'm so sick of seeing his damn signs everywhere; he seems really popular. So who is running against him? I'll be sure to vote against him as well.

It's now official. I just got back from voting for Chuck Baldwin. I haven't been feeling well at all today, so the process of filling in his name made my stomach a whole lot better.

I'll be on TVU and Livestation tonight trying to get news footage from all over the world, just to see what's going on, so I might post some updates here and there if it gets interesting.

Bob Barr. I agree with most of the libertarian platform, and Barr is nothing close to the two establishment candidates. Of course Baldwin was my second choice. The most important thing was to vote against my scumbag DC incumbant bailout legislators. Everyone needs to vote these guys out.

i know where people like you are coming from but not voting kinda makes you invisable. Atleast throw in a 3rd party or even a write in. Even if they don't count the write in. I dunno i would atleast vote dude.
Plus there are many other things to vote for besides president. Local offices are important too.

A. Havnes

Wouldn't that be just awesome if a third party candidate actually started taking the majority of the votes? It won't happen, but I could just see the final countdown!

I got to vote against a bailout voter, for two liberty candidates (state senate and county commission), against some bad judges and for a couple of good ones, for a couple of initiatives that allow a little more freedom and against a couple of new taxes.

Who cares that I could not, in good conscience, make a mark at the top of the card? Worth the gas--especially at $2.009!
