View Full Version : If the GOP loses this election...

Why does everyone keep saying that the Republicans will realize they need to get back to their conservative roots to win elections?

To me, if Obama wins by a landslide, it'll send a message to the GOP that they'll have to move further LEFT because that's what the American people want.

I don't see how having Obama smash McCain helps us in any way. In fact, it seems like it'll actually hurt us as the GOP will want a candidate like we want less and less.

Anyone want to make it clearer for me?

If McCain + Barr + Baldwin votes are > Obama's votes it will show that the Republicans need to listen to us.

Between the two parties, I'm actually hoping that Obama wins.

But here is why an Obama win could be good for the Republican Party and a "Ron Paul" type candidate.

If Obama wins, he will basically socialize the country and things will get very, very bad. Then, after 4 years of this, people may realize that this big government solution is not working, and we need to take a Ron Paul approach.

Even though McCain is almost the same as Obama... the public sees McCain and the Republicans as more "free market" oriented. Therefore, if McCain wins, the country enters the depression under a "free market" government, and therefore elect an even bigger democratic socialist in 2012.

I personally believe that Lindsey Williams is correct, and that McCain will win. This will have many benefits, but mainly, it will cement the idea that all of this was the fault of the free market and the republicans and the left can go on hating the right and blaming the right for all the problems (even though the left wing solutions are just as bad if not worse).

What good is a liberal war mongering fake conservative Republican party?

You must make the point that the Dems did not win because they have overwhelming support, the Republicans lost because actual conservatives will not support a left wing Republican party.

You must understand that the socialist/global movement is not an accident. The MSM agenda is no accident.

It is no accident that their is only one "defender of the constitution", proved by record.

We must take over a shattered Republican party for this nation to survive.

You don't demand tar and feathers, you just do it.

I disagree. People LIKE socialism. People LIKE stimulus checks, "free" healthcare, government-intervention to reduce or eliminate their mortgage/credit card debt, etc. People LIKE being "taken care" of by government. The only way they'll be upset is if it interferes with their bread and circuses.

The only thing that will get people off their butts is extreme adversity and hardship. People are just too comfortable to care or to make an effort to fix things.
