Can't believe Thelma Drake is up there, except that she did vote against the bailout and I heard an interview where she really did a good job backing up her opposition.

C4L ran ads locally for her. Weak ads but ads nonetheless.

Ironically, your name is FA Hayek and Hayek was no purist either.

Goode isnt perfect, most of the Liberty Committee isnt---but he is better than most. And if he is sitting in on that Committee, then we know he is at least being exposed to pro-liberty ideas.

Doug, Where do you live if I may ask.

I am in Robertson County and work closely with Brazos County, some with McLennan and Johnson Co.

Also Rob is a great guy, I took him to some events on Friday.

Can anyone tell us how close Rob is to Ron?

Rob is a conservative in the Regan mold. He wants smaller government, less taxation, no national health care. He wants to come home from Iraq but only with a victory. He wants to fund the troops, until they get back. He wants to eliminate the IRS and income tax, but he would like the fair tax. He is pro-life. I doubt he has exstensive knowledge of the Federal Reseve, but there is no way in hell he would have voted for the bail-out. Anti Fairness Doctrine. Wants balanced budget. Wants to open up drilling.

On the other hand Chet Edwards (D) his opponent has:

Endorsed Obama
Is Pelosi's favorite, she even urged Obama so select him as VP
Voted for the War in Iraq
Voted for the Patriot Act
Voted for Spying
Doesn't see a spending bill he doesn't like
Doesn't see a new tax he doesn't like
Bring pork home for Defense Contractors
Is Pro Choice
Voted for the Bail Out
Is for Gun Control
Chair of Appropriations Commitee, Probably the most powerful Dem behind Pelosi and Frank.

Chet is pretty much the Anti-Ron Paul.

I will also say that Rob has worked and talked with myself and many other Ron Paul supporters through out our district.

Great! Let's hope he wins.

Before he does--you should send an email encouraging him to join Ron Paul's Liberty Committee.

Ron Paul may like him for opposing gay marriage. It's sad. States' Rights are such a bullshit issue when it comes to fundamental rights for all human beings that are United States citizens.

Kombayne,

Marriage should be seperated from the State. However, if it cant be---we should not also co-opt Homosexuals into a statist system for the sake of "fairness". This is like including homosexuals under the income tax in the interest of "fairness". No,we should allow them to remain free of the income tax and let their example show NO ONE needs the income tax, just as NO ONE needs official governemnt recognition of their marriage.

This is an example of government being used to socially engineer. The liberals want to use it to make Gay marriage acceptable, to change the definition of marriage to one that can include homosexuals. Conservatives want to use it to entrench the current definition of marriage.

Neither form of social engineering should be tolerated. Seperate marriage and the State. I'd like to point you to Homosexual Paleolibertarian Justin Raimondo, who feels the same way: That marriage should be seperated from the State, but that until it can, gay marriage should not be legalized.
