I used to trust factcheck.org before the Obama birth certificate affair. Who out there is known to be a real fact checker, beholden to none?

I have to agree with Kludge on this one. It's really difficult to sort facts from fiction when the mainstream media has a pro-establishment agenda and when it's virtually impossible to establish the credibility of various alternative media outlets on the Internet. While it takes a certain number of facts to build a case against mainstream candidates (proving they're not what they say they are), I've always found that I do a much better job arguing from fundamental principles, whether logical or ideological, and building my case from there with further deductive logic and reason. I really wish there was an honest and complete resource for fact-checking, but...really, it seems that we can only be "reasonably certain" of basic facts anymore.
