We have electioneering laws here that keep people from pushing candidates around the polling station.
Not sure if was to cut down on heated tempers or what... but you can't even talk politics within so many feet of a polling station in louisiana.

they never bothered anyone over bumper stickers.
but if you had a huge sign in the back of your truck they may ask you to move it.

I know of a few RP supporters during the primary and even this election that were told to either remove or turn their RP clothing inside out before they could enter the precinct. This was in TN.

In Florida my parents are poll-workers and they were told that anyone can wear anything they want into the polls regardless of what it says (provided it's not obscene).

I have been a poll worker/inspector and would have done the same thing AND I love Ron Paul.

Prohibiting all political propaganda within a certain distance of polling stations helps eliminate intimidation.

Yep. Anything within 50 feet of the polls can be asked to be removed.

If he's not running.. then he's not a candidate..

so none of the rules apply..

A massive "fuck off" would have been appropriate.

Depends. Some areas say "political propaganda" in the rules and don't specify whether or not the person is running. I voted on a water referendum in 2000 with the ballot not mentioning the presidency, and I was told to take off my Harry Browne button.
