and here is the youtube of him getting shocked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj1ENW0K_OE
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Shawn Turschak of Chapel Hill was tired of someone stealing McCain-Palin campaign signs from his yard. Turschak, with a degree in electrical engineering, hooked up a third sign to a power source for an electric pet fence Monday and also put up a surveillance camera.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that a 9-year-old boy with an Obama-Biden sign grabbed the McCain-Palin sign and got a jolt on Tuesday.
The boy's father, Andrew Noble, upset that his son had been shocked, showed up at Turschak's door. Soon an Orange County sheriff's deputy also showed up at the Turschak's home.
Noble said his son just wanted to see how the sign was put together. Turschak said the boy intended to swap out the signs.
Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass said he doesn't plan to file charges.
solution to stolen RP signs? I would advise to check your local laws :D

Local laws? Fuck that. If someone tries to steal anything off my yard I'll make sure they don't do it again even if it is outside the law.

What are the odds of the Republicans and Democrats eventually killing each other off, thereby leaving little or no opposition to the cause of liberty?

Socialism will pit people against each other as competing groups that seek to enslave the other to their benefit. So the possibility is real.

I know I shouldn't laugh at a kid being shocked but damn this is funny. Sure... the kid wanted to see how it was "put together" as he was holding an Obama/Biden sign.
It really sucks that the boys dad was using his kid to steal signs.
My mom told me a story (because I don't remember) that when I was 1 year old I put my hand on a stove and burnt myself. From that point on I never touched a stove that was lit. I'm still alive with no scars. Sometimes a little SHOCK can do a kid some good. :D

Hahahahahaha, his father should be ashamed for putting him up to that. What a turd.
a. nine year olds don't care about politics, nor know a damn thing about politics, so this was not self motivated.
b. "wanting to see how its put together" is too retarded of an excuse for a kid to come up with, only something a beetle-man father could make up.

I can't believe the father had the cheek to march up to his door and complain because his son, that he ordered to deface the electrocutioners property, got zapped.
I want to see the father of this boy.

The child could be charge with trespassing and attempted buglary.

I assume the charges would have been brought up against the guy who electrified his sign (sadly)?

like Fallout 3, once the Republicrats and idiots kill each other, we will spring forth from our enclaves!

reminds me, i should make time to get lost in that game tonight.
I bought it, played it some... but this damn forum, and the intellectuals on it or too damn addictive. ;)
The game may require more time than i'm willing to put into it.. but damn, it is fun.
And have you talked with nathan in megaton?
I got in an argument with him using the founding fathers and their resistance to the throne as a reason not to blindly follow the enclave. :D

If the law was applied, wouldn't the kid's dad be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor or reckless endangerment or something?
Also, wouldn't the child be removed from this parent since the father has encouraged the child to participate in illegal activity?

Hey torch...
If I didn't like Oblivion, do think I would not like Fallout as well? Or is Fallout much different/better?

What didn't you like about Oblivion?
Then I can tell you if you will like fallout 3.

+1 How does the gameplay structure and diversity (esp. in character models and music) compare?

Well... I didn't give it much of a chance admittedly, returned it after a day or two.
But the world felt boring, static, soul-less, and uninteresting to me. Could have been the shitty voice acting as well.
I like some RPGs (like Mass Effect, Fable, KOTOR), but just couldn't get into Oblivion.

I think you will enjoy fallout 3. I've only begun to play it, but it is great in my book.
I think its better than mass effect. KOTOR is still awesome, but fallout 3 is more open ended that KOTOR.
You will need a monstor system to get the full visuals with Fallout 3.
Though it looks great on medium effects.
1000s of npcs with unique dialogue/speech included like oblivion.
I love VATS. Hard to explain, but it makes it more strategy than first person shooter, though VATS is optional, you can play it like a first person shooter also.
Voice acting is good. Models are good. Many places to explore.
Side quest are fun.
As in oblivion, if you went into a random cave, you got a boring dungeon with no real point to it.
in fallout 3, when you find random places, you can find random purposes.
They made getting into some downtown areas very hard, and less open ended. That is my only complaint thus far.. but it may be to hold on to the main story line. i don't know.
I enjoy listening to the radio stations you can find... the npcs you can get to travel with you.
You get perks at every level. many skills to customize what kind of character you want.
many factions... looks like a lot of work went into the game.

lots of old school patriotic tunes can be found scanning the airwaves.
mostly from enlave radio.
some guy, three dog, runs a pirate station, but the reception can be bad.
Its a game worth the money. It will give you 100's of hours of play time.
I have the PC version. But it looks like they took the console version and converted it to pc, so you can easy integrate a gamepad if that's your preference.
I use keyboard and mouse.
It also has the XBOX games for Windows Live on the PC version, but its optional.
I'm playing a good character right now, but i'll probably go back and see how being a bad character changes game play.
I did that in KOTOR and Mass Effect too.

and to complete this off topic discussion, i hear Beethoven's Fur elise faintly being played somewhere in my neighborhood. Weird and freaky.

For the record, the ending (last hour of general gameplay, really...) of Fallout 3 was terribly anti-climatic. Made the Bioshock ending look good.

That child's father is scum trash, and how dare he complain to the owner about shocking his son. Disgusting socialist. I hope this scares his son into hating dems, or politics all together.

I cared about politics from the time I can remember. It is probably because when my mother was pregnant with my brother (my first memories were from around this time), she had me sit with her and watch C-SPAN all day.

Good endings. Tried all possible outcomes. Going to see what happens if I drop "karma" ranks.
Liberty Prime was pretty badass, though the silly anti-Communist slogans became hard not to laugh at after a while...
