I am not on the joe the plumber bandwagon, but joe the plumber is a chilling example of partisan politics violating civil liberties. How can the state of ohio basically do a backround check on someone at the request of the media who is only guilty of questioning the tax policy of a presidential candidate. I think it is pretty clear that questioning and/or displaying even the most remote oppostion to one of these hacks is a crime. Media on the right listens to joe the plumber, media on the left slams joe the plumber, but the media should be reporting: Why is the state implicit in ruining a mans life for questioning something?
