Maybe they'll sell it to the black market.. or put it on eBay for a thousand dollars so only the real dedicated can watch it. If c-span is gonna be there taping it, my guess is it's because they're going to put it on television.

Baldwin is about as close as you will come to something akin to Paul...and I think he most stands by the liberty principles.

Nader is a principled guy...but ultimately he has socialist tendancies. At least he's honest and you know where he stands.

If only we could have a televised debate on prime time TV with all candidates on enough states to technically win, our election results would be a lot different.

Is revolution broadcasting actually at the event with a live feed or are they pulling it off of the choppy City Club feed? I'm trying to listen to both, but both seem to be dead.

I'll wait until it comes on C-SPAN this weekend.

I know there are differences between these candidates but all three of the candidates look more like the same person.

They don't talk about their differences between each other, they only talk about the differences between the three of them vs the Republicans and Democrats.

If I was a listener, seeing this for the first time, even if I agreed with what they were saying I wouldn't know who to vote for because they are all saying basically the same thing.

Ok...one believes abortion is murder. The other supports tax payer funded abortions.

One wants to eliminate most, if not all, of the income tax. The other wants tax the wealthiest 10 percent at rate of like 95 percent.

Do you have split personalities or you making your decision on "how honest they sound" or some BS like that.

The guy who asked that was an idiot. Probably one of the morons in this forum who are still insisting RP should run 3rd party, even today.

Why not ask a substantive question of one of these guys? Challenge them on their positions. Challenge them on their records.

Actually I think it was a good question. Not because I think Ron Paul should necessarily run as a 3rd party but to see their response.

Are these third party candidates so used to losing that they would rather continue this charade of getting 1-5% of the vote every 4 years while making absolutely NO progress whatsoever and changing ANYTHING? I listen to all three of them agree with about 90% of what each other says yet STILL profess that "they" are the best candidate.

It is already hard enough to fight the two major political powers when they control the debate commission but that question right there showed me exactly why they will NEVER challenge the major two parties. These third parties have their own egos and agendas just like the Republicans and Democrats. They seem generally content with losing and have really NO interest in any real change. They'd rather just sit up there and give the dog & pony show in their 15 minutes in the spotlight while spouting the "message" to people that probably already know it (and in some cases know more than they do).

It isn't unlike the various types of personalities in these forums. We all strive for Liberty. We all want Freedom. But it seems that everyone has a different theory about how to achieve it and rather than uniting around that which we share in common, we constantly fight about the things we disagree with.

That question told me exactly what I needed to know.

cspan or no?

C-SPAN will broadcast it this weekend.

If you miss it this afternoon, C-Span will be running it over the weekend.

That was from an e-mail I got from the Nader campaign.

And this press release says Barr and Nader confirmed:
http://www.votenader.org/media/2008/10/30/debate/

No idea if Baldwin was there. He hasn't sent out a press release in over a month (http://baldwin08.com/Press-Releases.cfm).

EDIT: Okay, there was a Campaign Update that said all three were there:

Looks like the forum in cleveland was well done with the three parties participation and word is that cynthia was across the US and asked to see if they could bring her in by video link but wasnt possible.

Real bummer that free and equals christina tobin burned so many bridges and lost rosa, hopefully she doesnt loose root as well.

Not too smart to advertise people to be at events when they havent said they can be there.

Hopefully darrell and gonzalez have a good debate in vegas.

Nevada really needs other options for sure.

The truth is fusion candidacy should be happening for the mirror image of the democrats and the mirror image side of the republicans.

Barr/Baldwin are somewhat close so are nader/mckinney.

Barr/Baldwin will go on for a while, but nader is nearly done given his age he doesnt have any choice but to hand off the mantle. Whether it be mckinney or ventura, or a combined ticket of those two together we only need two more choices besides the democrats and republicans for fusion tickets.

They should in the future think that way. Their social party stances can not be brought together as saw when attempted in the past with the reform party it does not last to bring together buchanan's and ventura's like tickets.
