SO STOP VOTING!

I had to post a thread after this comment:

lets vote now with an eye to both 2010 and 2012... VOTE THIRD PARTY!

And then what?

Become the first libertarian to get elected to the house.
Then to the Senate.
Then gain a majority in the house.
Then gain a majority in the senate.
Then gain the presidency.
Then repeal all laws restricting to much freedom.
Then appoint judges to enforce those laws.
Then wait for the other judges to die off so we can appoint new judges.

That WILL NEVER and HAS NEVER worked in history. No society has ever successfully voted their way to a libertarian society.

However, People have abolished the government to achieve a libertarian society. Example: 1776.

Not voting the new Ron Paul Forums Fad. Sitting on your ass isnt going to get shit done either. The FACT is people count the votes not the non-votes. And the fact is that is all the sheep care about and a good way to set brush fires in the minds of sheep is to vote 3rd party.

In 1776, they didn't abolish the government. They seceded from it. Unless you want to go on a killing spree..

It is an interesting concept. Lots of the posts here are theory anyway, so here goes....Theoretically speaking if people actually DID this and all just stayed home...the gov't would be turned upside down.

With no votes to count would incumbents keep office? What WOULD happen? It's funny to think about but it would be the single biggest statement any society could make. The Gov't and media would freak....they would be like "Where are our slaves to justify our existence....Oh no....We're melting....we're melting".....;)

The most votes would win, even if only 3 of the 300 million people turned out to vote. It would actually reinforce the notion that the government is an entity onto itself and is perfectly capable of performing without meddling from the citizenry.

It only takes one vote to legitimize an election. I don't think any kind of quorum is ever required.
