Here's a thread from last year that has a Ron Paul carving stencil:
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=28027

How about a Liberty Bell or Statue of Liberty?
http://www.pumpkinglow.com/Patterns1.htm

Of course, the AP doesn't include any 3rd party candidates in their stencils (However these look great. The difficulty on carving would be quite high):
http://hosted.ap.org/specials/interactives/_lifestyles/political_pumpkins/

These require you join to print. (I don't like that.) They appear to be less difficult than the AP ones.

Perhaps we can get a campaign for liberty stencil? This has some steps in Photoshop for using a picture to make a stencil. I'm not an artistic person ... but I sure would like to see some more Ron Paul options.

Pumpkins are too expensive.

Bump!

I had originally put this in Grassroots Central. Personally, I think it's worth being there. What better way to get people talking "liberty" than a neighborly chat about the issues of the day!

I'm not artist. But, the last link gives advice on how to convert most any photo into a carving pattern with Photo Shop.

Perhaps some of our more creative minds can come come up with some good ideas.

Pumpkins are too expensive.

Wat.

Decent sized pumpkins are $3.88 at Wal-Mart. I just picked up one to put in a pumpkin beer.

Thanks for the bump, I may try my hand at carving.

This stencil looks good:

A Ron Paul Supporter on Facebook named Chang Meng posted this.
Her profile is here and everyone should add her: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1953339

I made this Ayn Rand stencil and stole a Ron Paul stencil. Ayn Rand stencil is not for beginners.

Here's how to do it:
1. get a really big pumpkin with smooth skin.

2. download either images and blow it up accordingly.

3. Cut off a lid from the pumpkin and scoop out the seeds

4. Print it out and tape the printout to your pumpkin, now it's a great time to make sure if your image is big enough. Tape all sides of the paper onto your pumpkin

5. Use a sharp instrument and trace along the image with tiny pricks. Then remove the stencil.

Now, the black areas on the stencil are the areas you will carve away for Ron Paul stencil, and white areas for Ayn Rand stencil.

6. Make sure you have a proper pumpkin carving tool, carve out the smallest black/white areas first.

7. Gradually move to larger areas.

I'm doing a Ron Paul pumpkin this year. Probably a stylized logo of his name because I suck at carving faces. It's a fun way to spread the message, to be sure.

I think I will just do his name and "2012" or something underneath.

Faces take too much time for my level of patience.

This photo uploading / attachment thing is annoying... i guess it's better than having to upload it to a server first then link to it.

just found this one:
http://www.pumpkinglow.com/Patterns12.htm
It reads:

Ron Paul

Political Heros

http://www.pumpkinglow.com/images/PDFpatterns/Ron-Paul-Pumpkin-Pattern.pdf

For those interested the link also has Thomas Jefferson and Ronald Reagan. (Oddly enough right there beside John Wayne and Tiger Woods.)

i like to roast the seeds. I will probably get one the day after and make some pumpkin bread and roast the seeds.

I have heard the seeds are good for ridding the intestines of parasites.
