0:01 - 4:11, and then 9:00.
He mentions John McCain trying to shut down gun shows. And he said he applauded him for it.

Bill Maher's understanding of politics and philosophy can be likened to a small child's.

Maher is a huge statist with the exception of his choice to smoke pot and buy hookers, seems everything else is a okay if the government does it.

He's a funny guy in general, and I think he knows how to appeal to the masses, but he's definitely not an economic wizard.

"Here's some good news: McCain, cancer-free." :D
I don't know, maybe Bush turned him socialist.

Yeah, I remember when Ron Paul was on, Maher asked him something like: "Aren't there things that are too big, that only the government can do?"
The amount of applause the Socialist received was sickening. "$12 mininum wage. *Explosive applause*."

I don't think they'd clap if they understood how that worked. They're just clapping because they would earn $12 an hour. They don't know the effects it would have on businesses. Back in 2004, one of the reasons I supported Kerry (wasn't old enough to vote) besides the war, was that he wanted to raise the minimum wage.

Bill just gets more closed minded and rude with the passage of time.

This Friday is the last Real Time before the election.
Two days would be too short of notice - you know, for people who don't work at Free & Equal.
But he should be on again. Maher likes him.

Not sure I necessarily disagree with that. I've seen a few studies that suggest that a higher minimum wage would actually promote a lot of independent economic activity, because people at the lower end will be able to invest a little bit and work on their own enterprises if they're freed from overtime shifts every week.

Lower everyone's taxes and raise the minimum wage incase anyone has doubts seriously it's alittle low. I don't see how that wouldn't please just about everyone and eliminate some of tax warfare political BS.
