Typical of the mainstream media and their lackeys. Chris Matthews agreed with him.

I'm not a member of the JBS, but figured worth bringing up what the media says about revolutionaries among us who are members of that society.

They are afraid of dissent on the MSM.

I'm in an interesting position with the JBS. I was raised a good little socialist and came this close to joining the communist party at one point. I did all the requsite demonstrations and protests, was proud to have my name on the FBI's list. (I actually got interviewed by a guy in a white shirt and black pants and tie--I assumed he was the FBI, could have been an adventist....) lol

I have since changed my ways, and that was long before I heard of Ron Paul BTW, but, the past keeps creeping up on me. I now have a roomie who is and has been active with the JBS for many years. (It really is strange how life works out.)

I know the ire and hatred that the mention of the JBS brings out in some people, and I admit in front of all that it still stirs a bit of unease in me that is, thankfully, easy to dispell, but it IS there, still. Which will give you an idea of how hated the JBS is amongst the leftist folk.

Just tonight, as we talked about this very subject in conjunction with Naomi Wolf, the conversation turned to the House UnAmerican Committee hearings and how the left ended such hearings. (if you don't know what I'm talking about, google McCarthy hearings)

This is a little hard for me, the patriot and unabashed constitution lover in me argues that free speech is one of our most enduring freedoms. When that is gone, what do we have left? LOL the second amendment? (hopefully they haven't confiscated our weapons by this point...) On the other hand, and this is the JBS stance, sort of kind of and from my perspective, if there are those out there who wish to bring our country down, they must not be allowed to do so. And I do think that they have the right to bring to the light of day any such accusation. I'm not talking Patriot Act level, just bringing it to the light of day and letting it be discussed.

The trouble is, who decides what is right and what is wrong? If we go by the constitution, fine, but we all know that if we are not vigilant, that our freedoms dissapear like mist on the wind.

I just do not, and I repeat I do not, want a return of the witch hunt practices that took place "back in the day." Reputations and careers were ruined by accusations of "unamerican activities."

I do understand that by the elimination of these hearings, the continued socialist goal was acchieved on many fronts, and one of these fronts is probably the number one issue I have right now--schools phased out the teaching of the constitution and the bill of rights (Naomi Wolf has more than a bit to say about this,)

Guys, if I had known then what I know now, things would be different. Not just because of me, although I'd have to say I'd be a huge part of it (lol) but because my whole generation would have known what we were up against and how to really affect change. It is soooo much harder now. Cripes, we used to just show up and shout and yell, now you have to have permits and yadda yadda.....

It's just strange how life turns out sometimes.....

Yeah, wasn't Hitchens a big time advocate for invading an innocent country and murdering upwards of a million arabs at the cost of 4,500+ American soldier deaths, tens of thousands of American soldier physical and mental wounds, over a trillion borrowed taxpayer dollars, and much greater instability in the world? Yeah, I believe he was. And the birchers are the nuts? LOL
