that's almost enough to get into the debates ;)

How do I join this "undecided" party? :D

Seems like if it had an official candidate, people could just say they're "undecided" and get someone into a debate.

But Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and Ralph Nader have a combined 5%. I think 5% should be what's required to get into the CPD's debates, though. That seems alright, if they aren't willing to go buy how many ballots people are on.

Nice- I hope he gets at least 5% in the election.

The following link is a sample ballot from Montana for an arbitrary address, which shows Ron Paul listed under the Constitution Party:

Sample Ballot (http://www.vote-mt.org/Ballot.aspx?Election=20081104GMT000000ALL&State=MT&Congress=001&StateSenate=040&StateHouse=080&County=049)

Would somebody please explain to me how it is so that Dr. Paul is listed under the Constitution Party while not being its nominee?:)

The Montana CP is disaffiliated from the national party and nominated Paul without his knowledge or consent. He wrote a letter to the Montana Secretary of State asking to be taken off and replaced with Baldwin but by then some ballots had already been printed and it was too late.

National parties can nominate whoever the hell they want, but ultimately it's up to the states' chapter of that party to pick a ticket. For example, even though the national GOP ticket is McCain/Palin, if the GOP in a certain state like Nevada were so inclined, they could have Paul/Goldwater or something placed on the Nevada ballot for the GOP candidate.

This might just cost McCain 3 electoral votes.

Seriously, the only Democrats that win in MT are more conservative than most Republicans.

Good news showing up in polling . . .

Fiscal conservative, staunch pro-life/pro-sanctity of life, 2nd amendment advocate and USAF Vietnam veteran -
I think we got some more grassroots to go these last two weeks in Big Sky Country.

I don't think Montana will make or break the election, but it would be sweet if McCain loses it because of Ron Paul on the ballot anyway. If anyone deserves to have salt poured in their wounds, it's McCain and the rotten GOP.

I would love to see Ron Paul swing it for Obama, just to force the talking heads to, you know, talk about him.

"that kind of isolationism allowed hitler to come to power in world war II"

PS: That would be a smack in the face for mccain to lose montana because of RP

Didn't ron respond by talking about the interventions of WWI as being the cause of WWII along with the stiff penalties put on post wwI germany which gave hitler the fodder he needed?

McCain is SUCH a FOOL. He could of grabbed ALL the INDEPENDENT and Libertarian votes and WON if he would of accepted RON PAUL. McTeenSouthCarolina must still be sore at RP... but in reality, we know it's NOT McCain (WHO WOULD SELL HIS SOLE in a SECOND) it's the Elitist/Wealth/Zionists that pull the Presidential Puppet's strings.

True colors are always revealed over time... McGimmick and his Special Needs VP Nominee Sarah "GameShow" Palin... are going down in Flames.

Well, looks like Socialism instead of Fascism the next 4 years.

Catch the CNBC Maria "Money Whore" Batiromo's interview with Juan McFool and Sarah Pathetic...

Yawner... Stupid... Prepped and canned better than the 50 Year Twinkie!

IIRC that scene was McCain accusing Paul of holding the same "isolationist" beliefs that lead to the rise of Hitler. All Ron could do was shake his head at the obvious historical revisionism.

You're thinking of his book.
In the debate he just said that he gets more money from the troops and explained the difference between noninterventionism and isolationism

I wish I lived in Montana. It would be great to vote for Paul after all of this. In Texas, it is pointless to even write him in, because they only count "declared" write-in candidates, which he isn't. *sigh*

Here is a news story about "an independent poll" in Louisiana.

This story doesn't jive....

with these numbers:

Check out the vote numbers for both.

Yeah, you're right. But the book was great. I have both hard back and audio.
I wish Ron would have read the audio book, the guy who reads it mispronounces a lot of names.
