Ahhh...here it is.. the exact quote. I knew I wasn't the one with the hearing problem, and I knew it was a direct challenge and threat to Stossel (and the rest of us).

Thanks for getting the video and news story in print. I incorporated them in the email I sent to her opponent John Faulk. http://faulkforcongress.org

Mr. Faulk,

I'm not normally active in politics especially not in a district that is not my own. As a conservative you may find Ms. Jackson-Lee's appearance on ABC's 20/20 (10:00pm 10/10) as appalling as I did. When discussing farm subsidies Ms. Jackson-Lee this exchange occurred :

Lee said farmers are grateful for the farm bill. She said they visit her office all the time, thanking her for allowing their family farm to survive.

But clothing and shelter are important, too. Why not subsidize them?

Lee's response? [threateningly] "Well I would say to you...you don't want to push us." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/Story?id=6050559&page=3

Here is the actual video of the exchange that begins 7:15 into the video. Please take time to view her appalling arrogance yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTI9r4pUYh4

Wherever you stand on the issue of farm subsidies it's quite disgusting to suggest clothing manufacturers and homebuilders should be funded with taxpayer dollars. This in addition to her vote for the second pork laden version of the bailout shows how cavalier she is with your district's taxpayer dollars. I was also able to find the following on her Wikipedia page:

[Ms. Lee] also attracted controversy in 2003 by meeting with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and offering to sponsor a visit for the controversial leader to come to the United States.

The Weekly Standard has published criticism of her travel arrangements and her banning by Continental Airlines from flying with them after badgering airline staff and flight attendants. [6][7]

In her first two years in Congress, Jackson-Lee's staff reportedly had a 180 percent turnover rate, which was attributed by the Houston Press to overwork and bullying by the congresswoman. [8] Accordingly, House staffers unofficially voted her the "second meanest" member of the body as well as naming her "Biggest Windbag" and "Show Horse" in a 2006 Washingtonian article. [9]

She is quite the gem in your liberal district. While I'm unfortunately unable to financially aid your campaign I do hope you do what you can to hold Ms. Jackson-Lee accountable for her arrogance.

Oh man that was FANTASTIC! Thank you so much!

While everyone here is busy backslapping themselves over this Stossel piece, I'd like to share a different perspective.

First, may I recommend that forum members make themselves familiar with the work by the Club of Rome (CoR) think tank called The First Global Revolution. An online PDF copy can be found here (http://www.archive.org/details/TheFirstGlobalRevolution), but I've found some differences between this online version and the original published version.

One of the arguments that the CoR makes is that in order to implement global fascist controls, the public must lose faith in nations, national governments and democracy. So, when I watched this Stossel segment, I see a major media network railing against our system of government, which creates a psychological reaction in viewers that includes hostility toward and lost confidence in our system of government.

Of course, much of the bureaucratic corruption in our government needs to be addressed and eliminated, that's a given. Checks and balances must be tightened (did you see the Mayor of New Orleans roll his eyes when he mentioned the need for checks and balances). Government should be reduced in size. All of these are valid points that most, if not all of us here support.

But I am extremely concerned that the underlying intention of this segment was to create an overreaction by viewers, in support of the CoR agenda. So, when one watches that material, try to dissect the motives of the media owners who are showing you this material before you develop your conclusions.

Always ask yourself, why is the Globalist Oligarch owner of this media outlet wanting me to see this material?

Kludge
10-18-2008, 01:16 PM
Stossel didn't attack government, he attacked government intervention in the American economy. Many Americans have become so desensitized that his admittedly overly dramatic method is nearly required for any impact.

Besides, Stossel is a big supporter of the FSP. The media seeks ratings, not a global fascist regime coming beyond their years of existence to further regulate them.

Ron has always been for a strong national defense... ie. a strong military.
Which means, keeping them here at home, for when we really need them.. and not wearing out our troops and equipment overseas in meaningless wars.

]The psychological impact of that segment was "government is the problem" with a viewer-ship unable to distinguish between a "Republican form of Government," as Ron Paul espouses and the US Constitution framed, and "Government." The end result is a public against government, which serves the elite's interests.[/B]

What an astonishingly naive comment. While media requires financial returns to enrich its owners while its operations continue, the media is clearly an instrument of the elite and is the single most essential "technique" for manipulating the mass man. Please start with this thread (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=163493) to begin your education into "Propaganda" and "Technique" as so eloquently articulated by Jacques Ellul, a French philosopher who is well read in elite circles.

Absoutely itsthe,
however, there are mixed signals, people in on good. Take Ron Paul. We cannot brand everyone ENEMIES. Stossel is not an ENEMY.
Are you?
Personally, I like a lot of what you say, but I am going to call out when I feel you or your ideal might be flailing. The strong shall survive, and we all know that "strong" is a relative term.
