It wouldn't be suicide if someone put a gun to my head - it would be murder. :p

Gun to my head eh?

Well even with a gun to the head, there hypothetically might be more then just the three options... (talking your way out of it, disarming the one gun holder, etc)

But assuming there are only the three options, I'd probably just go with Obama. Its not like I would be endorsing Obama's policies, since I cast this "vote" against my own will it would be absolved of meaning regardless of what others said.

To me it would be one of the more pointless ways to become a martyr to choose the gun.

actually, I know how to disarm someone holding a gun, so the question is moot!

I would pick Jesus Christ and ask the gunman to pull the trigger so I could go Home to be with Him. :)

Gun to my head? I'd survive if I pick one? I could flip a coin and choose. It makes no differnce which of these puppets get in there.

Flipping a coin would be a particularly good option, as its both defying the gunman (by not making the decision yourself, but letting the coin decide), and obeying him just enough to where he does not shoot you. It would be a way of symbolically mocking the process.

I'd vote for the girl in my avatar and take the bullet, then I'd be rewarded in the afterlife with said girl.

I would direct their attention to the gun pointed at their groin, and vote for neither of them.

now there's a man who has real peace!:)

Does preferring to live mean you lack inner peace?

How exactly, when considering my last two posts, would "voting for" either one of them in this setting be "selling out ones values/soul"?
I ask this because that is what seems to be the unspoken premise people are going by in this thread. As if this 100% forced action somehow had any meaningful consequence and could be considered "giving in" with ones soul.

If in this isolated scenario, a man voted for one of the two stooges and felt as if he was "giving in" somehow, that might be true only because he let the gun holder have that psychological victory over him.

I hope we don't have to many people in the revolution ready to become martyrs in the first instance, or else it will be a short lived one.

I'm reminded of the Emma Goldman quote, "If voting changed anything it would be illegal." Obviously you should vote for Obama or McCain in this situation.

I am not gonna have myself shot because of some abstract principle when it is a mere vote. I'd vote McCain and go home where I can enjoy my modicum amount of freedom, since I have plenty to live for.

Also:

"Those who fight and run away, live to fight another day."

You will be of no good to anyone still living dead, unless God permits you to come back as an angel or something, but that's a bet. Vote for whichever one you want and go home, even if it is to go get your gun and start a rebellion.

Congratulations on successfully thinking about the topic, instead of just spewing rhetoric.

Obama. Its the democrats' turn to show the world the failure of the two party system.

IF I HAD to pick I would vote McLame based off of the potential fallout from Obama Supreme Court appointments.

Thankfully we have another choice. Vote Third party.
Chuck Baldwin is going to be the recipient of my protest vote (unless I write in Ron Paul, still a tempting option)
