Our job is to awaken as many people as we can, teach, and lead by example. Now does this mean you have to vote for a certain person? No, we should vote anyway we feel. So long as we don't go against our princables. If your reason to vote for McCain is to slow a socialist agenda then thats fine, and is very commendable.

But let me state it again, no matter what happens in this years election remember we have four years to wake people, look at what Ron and his campaign did in two years. Also remember that our focus is much more then the president, its congress, and local government.

Torch...98% of the grass roots republicans are clueless...they believe they are doing the right thing. They are the patriots...it's up to US to befriend them ...and pull them back to sanity. You can't hit them over the head with a bat and expect them to listen ....you have to have coffee with them, be their friend, talk positively about the GOP...and gently slide them the information a little at a time. We can't bombard them with this information...and at the same time, we have to offer solutions...like true free markets, sound money...information on the fed and what can be done to fix our economy. People won't listen if we don't offer the solutions as well...it's up to us to convence them. In a NICE way. tones

This is what should be scaring the socks off of people. The media has once again proved that it doesn't actually investigate facts, it just parrots what other people utter.

THe guy asked a question, and the media immediately set out to destroy this guy.

Joe is a plumber, and his boss is licensed. He is not related to a Keating. He has a tax lien on his house. Obama's campaign treasurer has one too, as well as several business liens.

Not that the truth matters. It's much easier to just pick people apart, so the rest of us will hesitate to stand up when the time comes.

I know the socialists do it, but I am freaking floored to see the people here engaging in the gang bang.

If he was just being a curious voter and got caught up in it by McCain's campaign using him... the ultimate blame lies on McCain.
McCain didn't have to talk about "joe the plumber", he could have made up any example to illustrate his point without bringing a common individual into the political mix.

That's not what he said! He said he was looking at buying a business that made $250,000.

I think there is a case to be made that Joe doesn't understand that taxes are generally paid on net, not gross. But he's a plumber, not an accountant. He can use part of that $250,000 to hire an accountant.

As for not being a difficult job - you couldn't pay me enough to work in other people's shit.

I do my own plumbing. :)
In politics, I deal with other people's shit all the time. You get used to the smell. :D

They are NOT the same.. They are VERY different on the supreme court.

OK, I'll bite.

HOw different will "reach across the aisle" really be? Remember, he said Scalia was too conservative when preparing your response.

Also remember that he was the guy that formed the gang of 14 - he sold out the GOP and President Bush's right to appoint judges.

Also consider that his name is on the bill that became the biggest infringement on our first amendment rights in recent history. Do you really think he will appoint a judge that will overturn the law that McCain/Feingold begat?

:( I thought the same thing... thinking, if that's true, why aren't people rushing out to by plumbers?
It doesn't look like that difficult of a job.
I fix computers, networks, private virtual networks, point of sell machines... shit that requires a lof of knowledge, and I don't make anywhere close to that much... not even a quarter of that.

I'm not an official plumber but I've done plenty of plumbing in my life, especially in my "former life" working as a golf course superintendent. Point is, there's more to it than one might think.

Further, I live in a neighborhood full of and know a lot of trades people. Don't let the fact that they don't have a Harvard education fool you. In general (and I hate collectivist thinking but...), they're intelligent, well-read and have waaaaaay more street smarts and common sense than the obombas of the world. It is an elitist, snobbish attitude to look down on people just because they work with their hands and obomba should be slapped down for saying such a thing. Without question, some of the most brilliant people I know have no more than a high school education (with a PhD from the School of Hard Knocks and Self-Education).

And I do know a couple of plumber/business owners that do make a ton of money. How much, I don't know for certain, but they certainly live well and they always have plenty of work.

If Joe agreed to help mccain with a setup question. he earned it.
If he was just being a curious voter and got caught up in it by McCain's campaign using him... the ultimate blame lies on McCain.
McCain didn't have to talk about "joe the plumber", he could have made up any example to illustrate his point without bringing a common individual into the political mix.

I know :p When I said they're both disgusting, I was referring to McCain and Obama (or at least the Obama worshippers who are now crucifying Joe for causing an Obama slip, just as McCain expected).

I get slightly miffed at anyone who titles himself different than he should be. Skilled tradespeople are just that - skilled at what they do. If he isn't a master plumber, he's not a plumber. Just like an assistant to a doctor is not a doctor, a legal assistant is not a lawyer, etc. Of course plumber's assistant or 'I work in the plumbing field' might not translate well. However people never seem to misreport a doctor or lawyer (Unless you're trying to pick up someone at the bar). I wonder if "joe" ever thought his 15 minutes would come from asking a single question.

Yes it's semantics. But since it's a hot topic I can say that any self respecting tradesperson who hears that joe isn't licensed gets a chuckle off of this. I mean who in the trades hasn't run into some self titled plumber, electrician, carpenter and laugh/wince when they see their work.

Who said Jesus was a carpenter? He wasn`t! He didn`t have a license!

Nonsense. I am not a CPA but I am an accountant. My friend the CPA doesn't call herself an accountant. She calls herself a CPA.

I used to work with a lot of tradesmen, and the electrical apprentices all called themselves electricians, and the plumbers called themselves plumbers.

He attaches faucets to sinks - he is a plumber. As in - one who plumbs.

Really far more controversial to hear a non-master plumber describe his profession by what he does than to hear the potential next president talk openly about implementing socialism.

Pathetic.

Of course. Unbelivable you should meet buerocracy maniacs even on here.

What about before the buerocrats in the government figured out you need a license to do plumbing? Nobody was able to call himself a plumber?

Give us limited government. Put an end to government licensing!

What about private licensing?

Private licensing is good. It is one way in which a free market provides quality control.

But people should stil be free to work even without a private license if they can find customers. With my money I should be able to hire anyone I want to to do my plumbing!

And this guy has been in buisiness for 5 years and has saved enough money that he is considering buying a company for 250,000. That tells me he isn`t strapped for customers and must be good at his job. I`d hire him.

He said he was considering buying a company that makes $250,000 per year. It's a whole different thing. We don't know what he's paying for it, and there's no telling if he made the money to buy it by being a plumber, but I agree with you otherwise.

Anyway, my local news is still talking about this guy... said he doesn't like all the scrutiny, but he will probably be campaigning for McCain later in the day. lol. Whatever.
