View Full Version : More shouts of “kill him” directed at Obama during feisty Palin rally

speech
10-15-2008, 04:46 AM
It’s another Palin crowd that got out of hand today at a huge rally in Scranton, PA. Lots of anti-Obama chants and booing from the crowd, but the most distressing moment came when an especially, er, “pumped-up” McCain-Palin fan went over the edge.

Quote
There were no incendiary outbursts from the crowd about Mr. Obama during Mrs. Palin’s speech, as there have been during other recent McCain-Palin rallies.

However, someone did shout out, “Kill him!” during Republican congressional candidate Chris Hackett’s remarks before Mrs. Palin took the stage.

The outburst came during a round of booing from the crowd after Mr. Hackett said Mr. Obama should come to Pennsylvania and learn what the state’s values are.

Spread hate receive hate! The neo-cons should be proud.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Obama campaign sent someone to shout that to get a headline in an effort to galvanize his own people that they need to get out and vote.

I am indeed thinking that these are agent provocateurs. It weakens the McCain campaign, because the moderates think "Wow! I agree with some of his ideas but his supporters are scary."

Where as the Obama people are all shiny happy people.

I don't think they are provocateurs. There are too many of them (see a compilation of "worst hits" below at rallies)

I live in a red state and I talk to these types every day. They are all too real. It looks like they just bussed a bunch of people from any Wal Mart parking lot to these rallies.

They don't like McCain anyway. Some of these people were even interested in Paul's message at one time. I know, I have a few acquaintences who think like this. But even if he ran third party they would have abandoned him as soon as Palin appeared. I know this as sure as I am sitting here. RP has an intellectual arguement and that will never win out over this trash.

She is appealing to their basest nature much like an SS officer whipping up the crowds for Adolph himself.

In the end, it is these people who force the vote against the GOP.

There was nothing of that degree, absolutely nothing.

I'm sure plenty of the dying "black pride" movement show up... but they haven't been screaming the things you wish they were screaming. They don't shout "kill whitey".. you are just making assumptions based on your own prejudice. Each of these events is taped, each one can be viewed by you.

Obama even works hard to "shhh" the boos, often saying "we don't need that"...

I'm sure there are all kinds of people in the crowds, but they are not the people screaming "kill whitey" or anything else of that madness.

So no.

Go to Howard University or some other places and there is a big black power movement which really does hate whitey.

Even in the streets of D.C. there is a lot of hatred for the white man.

They can't wait to exact some revenge and in the words of one black cab driver, "Send the whites back to Idaho" where we belong.

Poor whte trash democratic voters in my area. They were for hillary strongly in the primaries and all for the democrats in congress but hate Obama purely because he is black. It doesn't matter if they agree with him on all the issue. Mostly very liberal in their views on governments role. Who are they voting for now? John McCain yet voting a straight democratic ticket otherwise.

Exactly Klamath, these people are very liberal about gov'ts role. They will vote for McCain but they would be the first ones to shout to high heaven if anyone took their SSI or medicare away. They want all the financial benefits of a liberal gov't but rail against socialists and that "Damn liberal media".

They don't even know what the words mean, they just parrot Limbaugh & Hannity.

I almost fell on the floor laughing when one of the JANITORS at work defended "capital gains taxes" that he heard Limbaugh talking about. Jesus, he makes $7 an hour and just got off disability. LMAO

These aren't limbaugh listeners. These would be limbaugh haters. These are white democratic liberals. These are the same people that support abortion because they believe the blacks will overrun the the country if they have too many babies. They feel truely supperior to blacks and therefore they know know exactly how to solve the black peoples problems in a very condescending way. If you question them directly on this of course they will deny it.
What you are talking about are the socialist Republicans. The same type that were all for the bailout because in the end they do believe the government handles problems better. Believe me there are a lot of racists in this group as well.

You seem to have an intimate understanding of where I'm coming from in this... I support the liberalism for it's social value, individual freedoms... think of the insult to someone like me, who doesn't support those entitlement programs, to actually have to defend a "liberal" for anything other than his stance of privacy issues, religious freedom, or foreign policy.

It amazes me really. I've been fighting this fight for a long time... The people against Obama the strongest for instance, will most likely be the one's that benefit the most from his entitlement program plans, things that even I, as a self identified liberal, don't support fully.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a supporter of Obama. However, most who oppose him are opposing him for the wrong reasons. They think he is a Muslim, and things of that nature.

Why is that funny? I don't benefit from reduced taxation on dividends and capital gains, yet I still support them.

That's like saying I should support higher taxes on the rich because I am not rich.

And that's what liberals say.

And that's how liberals divide and conquer.

95% of the black voters are voting for Obama, and the only reason a majority of them are even voting is because they want to vote for a black guy.

There are a lot more rascists in black America than white America, and that's just that.

There is a lot more hate and violence in the left than in the right, there always has been. This blog provides a lot of examples of violent rhetoric and actions ignored by the MSM, and it links to several other blogs providing more examples.

Angeltac;

The person I quoted also supported the bailout because he was told by Rush it was "good for our country" and we could even make money from it. I better be careful because with all this ROFLMAO I may have a workers comp claim myself.

That is ridiculous. And he needs to think a little less about capital gains and think about how he is being robbed NOW.

Due to all the BS he and others parrot that I have already posted he never will. That's my point.

The U.S. Secret Service is investigating a threatening remark directed at Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama during a political event in Scranton.

The agency followed up on a report in The Times-Tribune that a member of the crowd shouted, "Kill him!" after one mention of Mr. Obama's name during a rally Tuesday for Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

The remark came while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd at the Riverfront Sports Complex. There is no indication Mr. Hackett or Mrs. Palin, who took the stage a half-hour later, heard the remark.

The remark was reported almost immediately on the newspaper's Web site and today in the print edition.

Times-Tribune employees who covered the rally were interviewed today by the Secret Service.

Spokesman Darrin Blackford said the agency takes the threat seriously. If the agency can determine who shouted the remark, it would present that information to federal prosecutors, he said.

Kade,

Liberalism has a lot of social value and I think many of these people get this confused with socialism or communism. Liberal is like a slanderous word now. I was accused of "liberal ways" when I supported training therapy dogs for hospitals and soldiers with PTSD. This is a bad thing?? There are certain parts of our society that live in fear of new things and when they don't understand it they try to label it. I think Heavenly Boy is onto something with that thread he started about fear. That seems to be the root of it.

I grew up in a very low income family so a lot of my formative years were spent in an environment where I had to listen to that attitude daily from neighbors, friends. I am still around it, but I can see through it now. I just can't get people I know in real life to see the hypocrisy of their thinking.

My parents always told me we are broke, but not poor....poverty is a state of mind. That might be why I caught on to the RP way of thinking and don't want to see people get in a poverty trap. I don't discount all entitlements like SS because people in my generation were born into them, so I see both sides. I just don't want it to get worse.

Someone else on this thread used the term "socialist republicans", and I find these people to be the most vocal and stubborn to change. They say they don't want gov't on their backs but they had their hands stuck out further than anyone I know to get those rebate checks. I said "does it bother you we are borrowing that money from China?" Nope. I have been told by people "I like Bush, other presidents never gave me nuthin". (the irony is I could probably use the money more, but would rather see the debt paid down).

How do you argue with people whose attitude is, "leave my God and my gun alone, but don't forget to mail me that rebate check" Geez I could just scream. They want it both ways.

What really disturbs me about that article is that Palin is obviously trying to connect to the middle class by going to "middle class places"...while wearing a designer suit.

Also to my parental eye, its VERY obvious that she is accessorising using her child, to look more "downhome motherly".
