Free Republic backs up Paul's assertion that our foreign policy caused 9/11 buy printing Bin Laden's Fatwa against the United States.

Honestly, anyone who can read and has access to the internet would know Dr. Paul's stance is correct. Its interesting to note that the Rudy-backing stories seem to orginate from brick-and-mortar news agencies, while most of the pro-Paul stories seem to come from internet news.

Thank God for the free market, and how its developed the packet-switched network of the internet. The more monopolistic channel-switching technology of television is eventually doomed. From what I've been reading, the sooner the better. The television media is unable to report on simple facts, and seems completely oblivious to the fact that Ron Paul has support in the "unscientific" polls because he has actual supporters who vote, instead of mere name recognition for the other canidates. How obsurd is it to think that Dr. Paul's response to open polls is somehow because of better organization, when he has a small fraction of the money of other canidates, and supposedly far fewer supporters?

If the 20th century was the American century, the 21st century may be a time of reckoning for the United States. Chalmers Johnson, an authority on Japan and its economy, offers a troubling prognosis of what's to come. Blowback--the title refers to a CIA neologism describing the unintended consequences of American activity--is a call for the United States to rethink its position in the world. "The evidence is building up that in the decade following the end of the Cold War, the United States largely abandoned a reliance on diplomacy, economic aid, international law, and multilateral institutions in carrying out its foreign policies and resorted much of the time to bluster, military force, and financial manipulation," writes Johnson. "The world is not a safer place as a result." Individual chapters focus on Okinawa (where American servicemen were accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in "Asia's last colony"), the two Koreas, China, and Japan. The result is a liberal-leaning (and Asia-centric) call for the United States to disengage from many of its global commitments. Critics will call Johnson an isolationist, but friends (perhaps admirers of Patrick Buchanan's A Republic, Not an Empire) will say he simply speaks good sense. All will agree he is an earnest voice: "I believe our very hubris ensures our undoing." --John J. Miller --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Well, should be interesting to see how the Freepers attack it. I can't believe they actually posted it and it's still up. I got banned from there yesterday for saying the war could bankrupt the country.

My favorite reply over there

Islam has traditionally taught that believers have a responsibility to spread the religion by force, period. To that extent, Al Qaida is fully in agreement with orthodox Islam. Ron Paul may have been "factually correct" that Osama gave Iraq as a specific reason, but if he actually believes they wouldn't be attacking us otherwise then he is far from being fit enough to serve as CIC.

Since I can't respond over there, my response:

Lol, Sean Hannity, Republican Neo-con mouthpiece, has traditionally taught believers to spread democracy by force, if necessary.
