The only reason Sean would like debating Ron Paul is because he's fond of losing.

Last night in the after show with Insanity and Colmes, Sean said something about his interview with RP coming up and there would be some back and forth or something to that effect between the two.

It seems like Mr. Insanity was looking for an argument with him well before the interview took place.

Irritating, but oh well!

Of course they left ron paul's response. Hannity is still in denial that most Americans are opposed to the war and would rather we just leave. He really thinks the Republicans have a chance as long as they "stay the course".

aach! Hannity pisses me off. Accusing Ron Paul of not having read the Iraq Study Group report! Of course Dr. Paul acknowledges the Iranians are in Iraq, so is Syria, and Saudi Arabia, and lots of other countries. He's just saying that we're picking a fight.. and if we were really concerned about preventing other nations participating in attacks against our soldiers we ought to be fighting in Saudi Arabia. Straw Men!!!!! I'm tired of this CRAP!!!! Can't you neocons represent a person's idea's correctly, it might actually give you more credibility!

Essentially skirted around that fact. He agreed that he agrees with libertarians on some issues, but didn't mention Ron Paul anymore.

Noticed how Hannity hung up the phone, but pretended to keep the conversation going, in order to sound open enough to be in a disscusion. ?

You can hear in his voice how he pretends to still be having a conversation, but in fact just wanting to get the last word... for 2 min. uninterrupted.
An easy answer to all his "im a Reagan conservative" would be that Reagan pulled US out of Libanon.

Also notice how theres a trend to put RP to be a libertarian, and thereby not a conservative. Like its in very much opposition.

dmitchell
09-06-2007, 02:07 PM
Interestingly, Hannity did not attack Ron Paul on the CIA thing. He simply said "Ron Paul isn't going anywhere."

Ron Paul's answer was eminently reasonable and genuinely conservative. I have a feeling that when Hannity listened to the clip again, he realized there was really no basis for an attack. So he just changed the subject.

Someone should ask Hannity which part of Ron's answer he disagrees with. That we have a right to gather intelligence? That we need intelligent analysts? That government inefficiency and bureaucracy was the problem on 9/11? Deep down, I think Hannity agrees with all of those points. He just can't bring himself to admit that Ron is right.

I still can't believe he still uses that Martina McBride song "Independence Day" as one of his intros (he does use the cut version). I would think that SOMEONE would have told him the song is about a child abuser/wife beater....goes to show that he doesn't listen to anything that doesn't come out of his mouth, and his handlers' mouths.

Does Hannity know that Ron Paul was one of only four to actually support Reagan from the beginning? I wonder how many people know that...

He also failed to notice that the lyrics are "Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong." I don't know what that second line means (other than it rhymes) but it describes Sean's views perfectly.

Someone hit him with this!
If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.

Yeah, I suspected as much, but the average listener probably thinks the caller had nothing further to say.

He also (mis)uses the first movement of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. It's the menacing chorale theme you always hear at the beginning or after a commercial. If anyone ever took time to translate the latin text you would see that it's MUCH more applicable to the Ron Paul movement than to the neo-conservative movement.

Fate is against me
in health
and virtue,
driven on
and weighted down,
always enslaved.
So at this hour
without delay
pluck the vibrating strings;
since Fate
strikes down the string man,
everyone weep with me!

Real nice Hannity, unless you're talking about being enslaved by terrorists.
