Hello Triangle!

I am Glen Bradley, nominee for C4L 2nd District Coordinator. I (and NOT the C4L, I personally) am organizing an event in Raleigh, NC to take place 18-19 October, 9AM until Sunset (Opening Weekend of the NC State Fair) and 25-26 October, 8AM until Sunset (Closing Weekend of the NC State Fair).

The focus of the event will be "We told Congress not to vote for the billionaire bailout, they did anyway, now the economy has collapsed, and now we are going to vote the bums out." Accompanied by "DAVID PRICE (voted 4 bailout) YER FIRED!" signs, etc (freeform grassroots here) and Lawson for Congress and so on. Let's kick out David Price and Bob Etheridge, and the whole lot of those that voted for this awful thing.

There will be 4 days of protest/demonstration. Sat-Sun on the 1st weekend, and Sat-Sun on the closing weekend. All day until sunset. All souls invited.

I would especially like to invite NCSU Students as this is your ground.

We need help making signs and banners, so the more who make their own, the better. I will also be setting up a chip-in for literature, maybe stickers if it goes well, and maybe a few rounds of drinks for the folks on the front lines.

It's time to restore a respect for the US Constitution and for the voice of the We The People to be respected within the halls of Congress and the White House.

And we can establish the voice of the people by overturning Congress behind this bailout. They will never be able to ignore us again. 8-)

I love the sign! This is the kind of movement that we all need to take part in, and I think you just inspired me to do the same.

I also think a billboard like this might help:

Dear Politicians,
Seeking RE-election?
Make other plans.
Sincerely, America.

Then maybe a link to one of the "no bailout" sites.

Don't ever let anybody stop you from expressing yourslf! Go out there and make a dent where you are with what you got. Attend the conventions, and run for something. :)

Gunny --- You have to make this protest succeed, especially with Lawson now having a fighting chance with the cash in the bank.

Chipped in a hundo -- git'r done!

Thank you so much Cowlesy! I have gotten it, and I want to do things, like have handbills, and handouts; make more signs and banners, etc. I am looking forward to really connecting with the broader local grassroots, too.

BJ is exactly what we need to replace David Price, and I hope if Will Adkins does not win, he will at least strike the fear of God into Etheridge and make him fall in 2 years.

Thanks again! If we have enough people/resources, I intend to invite the media.

Glen

There was word of a big one in front of wall street at high noon on the 16th

Are you going to that one also

Are you going to work with the Lawson campaign (as much as the law allows) to get a big turn out? Keep up the fight!

Get 250 Lawson signs and just line the highway.

1 sign sometimes doesn't catch the eye. 250 will get the point across.

Strength in numbers.

Agreed. Even if you have to take them on loan! At our sign waves we had at least 100 signs. Different sizes work great too.

There will be a plenty significant Lawson presence, of that you can be sure! BJ is our PRIMARY goal in these parts!

We are: Concerned North Carolina Citizens, Enraged By The Recent Actions Of Congress

On September 30th, we made history. The American people stood up with one, nearly unanimous voice and demanded that Congress reject a Wall Street bailout package that gave welfare to billionaire banksters, while taking it from off of the taxpayers dinner table.

This $ 700 BN Lobbyest stimulus package was rejected in Congress on September 30, per the clearly stated will of the American people, and the American people celebrated a victory, even as the market corrected 777 points. On October 1st the market won most of it's losses back with a 500 point gain, and then, on October 2nd, Congress told us that we had to pass the bill or the markets would collapse. Congress was back on the hill Friday, October 3rd WITH THE SAME BILL made $ 850 BN large, and attached to an earlier bill that most folks wanted, and under a different name. They voted against the will or the people, and for the transference of wealth from the taxpayer to the ultra wealthy banksters.

The markets immediately collapsed, and did not rally.

We called them AGAIN, we protested AGAIN, to tell them, "a rose by any other name, is still the same" and THIS TIME they chose to believe that they were wiser than the American people. That they knew better than we did. That OUR will was inferior to their wisdom. They PASSED the bailout bill, and over the next 5 days the markets fell, and the markets around the world have collapsed. The DOW is now off 2031 points from that fateful Friday, a stunning 19%, which makes the justifications for passing the bailout ring hollow. It is time to send Congress a message, that the American people will not be ignored!

"Vote The Bums Out" is a project with the goal of overturning every "Yea" vote on the bailout from out of Congress by the 2012 election.

You can do your part by telling David price that he's fired, and elect BJ Lawson in his place. You can do your part by voting against Bob Etheridge until he's gone, and against Sue Myrick and Brad Miller.

In North Carolina, our "Yea" votes to reject are:

Aye NC-4 Price, David [D]
Aye NC-2 Etheridge, Bob [D]
Aye NC-6 Coble, Howard [R]
Aye NC-9 Myrick, Sue [R]
Aye NC-12 Watt, Melvin [D]
Aye NC-13 Miller, R. [D]

and our "Nay" votes to support are:

Nay NC-1 Butterfield, George [D]
Nay NC-3 Jones, Walter [R]
Nay NC-5 Foxx, Virginia [R]
Nay NC-7 McIntyre, Mike [D]
Nay NC-8 Hayes, Robin [R]
Nay NC-10 Mchenry, Patrick [R]
Nay NC-11 Shuler, Heath [D]

And don't forget our Senators:

Aye NC Senator Richard Burr [R] - Supported the Bailout
Nay NC Senator Elizabeth Dole [R] - Opposed the Bailout

Each and every one of our Representatives are up for re-election this year, along with one of our two Senators. We need to vote against everyone who voted "Aye" above, and kick the bums out of office!

Thanks! Good catch. That is one of the few words in the English language that really screws with me. :p

You're probably right about the 2nd one too, but the State Fair does draw young-uns, and lest we offend...we do need their parents on our side. ;)

OK, I set up a blank bank account for this, and intend to deliver a balance sheet at the end of it. I've never set this up before, and was a bit new at it. The ChipIn should update now, I think.

I like the constructive criticisms on the handbills. Keep em coming! Remember that on materials like this I have a MAX 5-hr turnaround. More like 2.

I was thinking also about big red X's over those three; taking out the last para, and adding some branding. (next post)

ChipIn is now verified and fixed.

Final form of the quarter-page handbill is attached in low resolution PDF (116K)

Please provide volumous and vigorous feedback. The handouts can be changed daily. I intend to flyer the State Fair parking lot with these all 4 days long if we get enough to make enough.

Fixed the name, Thanks. And $120 will get me 2500 B&W handbills, plus 40 with one side in color. Depending on how many volunteers turn out, those 2500 could go real quick flyering the State Fair parking lots.

Double-sided, same flyer, front and back. The 1-sided color is color on the 'thumbs up&down" side, B&W on the "We The People" Side. Good price for < 1-hr notice pricing I think.

Thanks so much LE, I got it.

I'm not so worried up front. This will be a 4 day affair. Today, Tomorrow, and next Weekend. I expect today to be extremely lightly trafficked in comparison to tomorrow and next weekend.

It's really next weekend I'm most concerned about funding. Maybe by Sunday next, have an actual banner... hmmm...

I got royally screwed by a customer. Week before last Thursday, I was sent 200 miles away for a 2 day job. The scope of work was horribly inaccurate, and this two day job has become 15.

Had I known up front, I'd have turned it down, but once I was onsite, I had $250 invested (on credit) that would not return unless I finished the job.

As soon as I get home...probably 2PM Friday, I will refund every penny, to include the ChipIn and PayPal fees.

I'm stuck in Jacksonville NC and have been for 2 weeks now. Been out of touch because Im in data roaming on my phone, sleeping in my truck and showering at a truck stop.

I'm so sorry guys. If they had been up front about the scope of this job, I'd have turned it down. But I got stuck 3+ hrs from home, and by the time I caught wind of what they had done to me, I was near $400 into the job (again, on credit) and had to finish or I wouldn't get paid.

So, the MOMENT I get back tomorrow night, I'll be adding in all the fees that ChipIn and PayPal took, and refund every red cent. Please accept my apologies.
