Yeah, but any movie that makes fun of a prick like Bush is okay in my book...

Oh certainly. I like his JFK and Nixon movies. Historically iffy in some parts, but good movies.

He was being VERY sarcastic. Colbert is known for "supporting" the Republicans on his show in order to point out their most serious flaws.

Stone has been an OUTSTANDING critic of the Bush administration; his movie doesn't paint Bush in a good light at all.

Here's a good Stone quote, specifically about his movie:

"This man has left us with three wars -- in Iraq, Afghanistan and the war on terror -- and the legacy of the pre-emptive strike. These are legacies that will haunt his successor for years. It's good for people, before the election, to think about who they elected eight years ago and about where we are as a country right now."

The main problem with Alex is his haughty attitude, e.g. when he asked Gergen to "say hi to Molech for me". I listen to Alex and I don't dislike him generally, but that haughty attitude doesn't play well with the general population. This particular interview was fine until the very end. After Gergen lost his composure and turned away to leave, Alex should have remained silent. Alex, learn to control yourself, guy. Stick to the hard hitting questions and let the interviewees embarrass themselves with their responses.

Maybe, but that was the highlight of the documentary for me. :) I forgot which of Alex's documentaries that clip was from.

"Weaving spiders come not here?" hehe

Edit: I should specifically point out that beyond just amusement, I drew great inspiration and morale from it. He's got balls. He walked right up to power and spoke truth to it, and proved that these are just men - in fact, fairly pathetic men. He took them down a notch.

I basically agree. Alex just needs to learn when to remain silent. He admittedly got himself into hot water with the DNC incident with Malkin. On C2C recently, he admitted making mistakes in his approach. Hopefully, Alex will mature some in his approach, but continue with the confrontational, hard-hitting questions. If Alex takes some of his critics to heart, Alex's best and most effective days are yet to come.

Anyway, let's get back to the thread topic as we basically agree with one another.

Did you know that Oliver Stone graduated from Yale? Yale, as some of you know, is home to the Skull and Bones guys.. I wonder exactly how it is that a guy like Oliver Stone can try to debunk Kennedy, lie horrifically about Jim Morrison and the Doors, and now he's making a movie that is going to idolize Bush. Sounds like a conspiracy to me.
