Could you imagine Ron Paul going up against Hillary?
Brit Hume: Hillary, will you withdraw the troops immediately and correct the biggest military blunder in our nations history?
Hillary: Well Brit, as you know we should pull back, talk, reevaluate, redeploy, strengthen, add more soldiers when needed, protect and keep our friends in Israel happy, send them more money and military aid--all they want, kiss Israel's ass--I love New York, I love Jewish people--have talks with Palestinians about their feelings, stop the suicide bombings against innocent people who take the bus---and make sure this never happens again...blah, blah, blah.
Ron Paul: Iraq? Just come home. Declare Victory and Come home. We found no WMD's, Saddam is dead, the country held elections, and our military is not the Nations or Iraq's police force. Come home.
Brit Hume: Iran is trying to get nuclear weapons, what would you do about that as president?
Hillary: Iran posses a danger to us all, I have been stronger against Iran than president Bush, and his failure to do something about them troubles me and endangers us all.
Ron Paul: Iran? Nothing. Nothing at all. The international weapon inspectors are there, checking on them and they are not making nuclear bombs. Why worry about Iran, Pakistan is what I worry about. Iran has a right to nuclear power and they know their oil will soon run out. Israel has 200 nukes, is armed to the teeth, has the best jet fighters and bombers around, we sold it to them. So I am not concerned with one man's idle threat that called for a regime change in Jerusalem's. I may agree with them, if the government of Israel does not accept the Saudi Peace Plan, then perhaps the Jewish citizens of Israel should change their government. The Saudi Peace Plan calls for full recognition of Israel's right to exist. As President, I will send them my best pen so they could sign it ASAP.
Brit Hume: The nation's health care is in shambles, what would you do to fix it?
Hillary: Well as you know I tried to fix it before, and I will try again, we will gather together all the big Insurance companies (I love PAC money) and drug companies ( I love PAC money) and we will have a huge powwow and make a new bunch of rules and regulations and in the end we will have Universal Health Care for everyone -- even federal care and protection for health companies and drug companines (wink)
Ron Paul: Government's track record in medicine has been the problem, for doctors and patients alike. I know, I delivered 4,000 babies. Medicaid, Medicare, the Veterans Hospitals are not shining examples of Government success. I would privatize medicine, starting with 100% tax deductions for medical insurance, get rid of 3rd party payment incentives, and allow competition and tax deductible charities rule in medical marketplace. Our best hospitals have all been shining examples of Charity at its best.
Brit Hume: Hillary, you don't support Gay marriage and you support gays being open in the military, why?
Hillary: We all have friends, family members, or know of fellow citizens who are gay, and they have the rights and protections and benefits of all of us as Americans....so I support civil unions and I think the policy that my husband started of Don't ask don't tell is not working and we should fix it.
Ron Paul: If sexual behavior is disruptive, then we must deal with it, however, all individuals as individuals should be afforded the same rights and protections under the Constitution. Now on marriage, that is not a Federal matter, and as President I would support State Rights to decide the issue.
Brit Hume: On the subject of abortion, Hillary you support a womans' right to abort, Ron Paul you do not. Can you expand on that?
Hillary: Roe vs Wade was a victory for women. I would not appoint a Supreme court judge who would be for getting rid of this ruling.
Ron Paul: Well I personally am against abortion and I think it is murder. As murder, this also should be handled at the State level, like other murders, intentional or otherwise. Thus I do not believe, like the gay marriage issue, that it is a subject that the Federal Government or the President should concern itself or rule on. I do not seek to rule others lives, nor do I want to. I do not believe that those who are against abortion, should be forced to pay through taxes, for abortions. The reasons, terms and conditions to have an abortion would be best handled at a local level. If the woman's life is in jeopardy, a victim of rape, or other such reasons, all should be decided at a State Level, not the Federal level.
Brit Hume: The 2nd Amendment is one you both support. What are your differences?
Hillary: ..... Blah, regulate, blah, inspection, criminals, regulate, tax, control, Brady Bill, automatic weapons scary, too many murders, criminals have guns we stop, we must of course allow hunting, but who hunts? Come on people, who hunts?
Ron Paul: I support all the Bill Of Rights, the first Amendment and the second and the third, forth, fifth, etc. I agree with the idea that the citizenry should be armed as a first line of defense against criminals, but also be prepared to defend their freedoms even from the Government. The Military Commissions Act, the Patriot Act, the talk of Marshal law, the talk of the draft, the talk of attacking Iran, the growing Police State, the national ID card, all these reasons tell me that our Bill of Rights is wiser then most care to realize.
Brit Hume: Hillary, its been said you would grow government by adding new programs, by nationalizing health care, can we afford this? Is there anything you would cut?
Hillary: I think the people have a RIGHT to Health Care, they have a right to think that our federal government should be there for them in times of need.
Hume: Is there anything you would cut?
Hillary: Well I would take a look at No Child Left Behind, I think those test standard are troubling.
Ron Paul: I would start cutting govt, starting with the Department of Offense, getting out of 182 countries world wide, reducing it to protecting our borders and revitalizing our military bases here at home. Then I would abolish ("God willing") the IRS and the CIA. If doing that does not get me killed, then I would get rid of the department of Education and Jimmy Carter's useless department of Energy. I am tired of people living in fear of the IRS, I am tired of other nations worried about secret assassinations and "cooos" caused by the CIA, in South America to the Middle East. The CIA has been nothing but a Presidents secret army and I see nothing about that in the Constitution. Only Congress has the right and responsibility to declare war, not the UN. It has made America hated and less safe because of the CIA and they are the cause of much Blowback. Education is a local matter, not a Federal Government matter. The income tax makes everyone poorer, getting rid of it would reduce government by 1/3 and we could afford that when we shrink the size of the Military. I want out of NATO... (BEEEP...Sorry you are out of time)
Hume: Hillary, the drug war some say is a lost cause, what would you do to win it?
Hillary: Drug addiction is bad and we can't go on allowing our children to get addicted. Pushers must be put in jail and we need more government programs for drug rehab.
Ron Paul: End the Drug War. Just end it. We don't need another Government Program, we don't need to put people in jail. Legalize it, regulate, even tax it, but we must allow people to seek private solutions for their medical needs. Being an addict is a medical and psychological problem, making drugs illegal has done nothing but turn these suffering people into criminals. The Drug war has been an excuse for Government to get into our personal liberties, search us and abuse us. End Nixon's Drug War, its a failure like Prohibition against Alcohol, its a failure like Bush's war in Iraq. (Beeeep I am sorry Congressmen you are out of time)
