This is the perfect time to push HR 2755.

With the recent announcement by Berlusconi about closing the world markets and setting new rules for international finance, now is the perfect time to hammer all of our representatives in congress to act on HR 2755: Elimination of the Federal Reserve.

We need to make a concerted effort via phone, email and fax asking our representatives to join the lead on fixing our economy by removing the meddlesome Federal Reserve.

Agreed. Whether we agree that they'll listen to us or not, NOW is the time to contact your "representatives" and encourage them to push for an affirmative vote on HR 2755. A special session of this Congress may very well be called so we shouldn't be wasting this opportunity.

done. i stole this letter from someone else on the forum:

Dear (SENATOR OR REPRESENTATIVE),

The privately controlled “Federal” Reserve is an international banking cartel that has a monopoly on the monetary system of our once wealthy republic. The Fed is illegal and unconstitutional. It creates inflation on a staggering scale. It’s sole purpose was to stop the boom bust cycle and get it under control, it has failed completely and utterly at that task. In fact, it has made things worse with its inflation tax and has encouraged massive spending by the Federal Government. The inflation tax is the devaluation of the dollar by printing fiat money out of thin air. This is legalized theft. Abolish this monstrosity, it was never needed. Return the monetary system to the Congress and therefore the People. Bring back the Gold Standard and end our doomed to fail Fiat Currency. When the Fed is abolished, fiscal sanity will be restored to our government.

Please support HR 2755 to abolish the Federal Reserve System. The central banking system is, quite clearly, fundamentally and fatally flawed. Arguably, the Fed is simultaneously the most powerful and the most unaccountable branch of government. Are we a socialist country? If not, why do we endorse central planning of the money supply? Money is a good like any other good, and we don't try to get the government to centrally plan the production of other goods like furniture or wheat or cellphones. Central planning DOES NOT WORK, and if the collapse of the Soviet Union didn't prove that, our own impending economic collapse due to the Fed's socialist monetary policies most certainly will.

"If the America people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currencies, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their prosperity until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."-Thomas Jefferson
