The main short term goal for the revolution , if I can sumize, is to replace congress... and watch every member like a hawk.

Even if we have to read every bill for them until we can trust them...

I think that if any one is wondering what they can do or where they can help - get into the removal of congress project and focus on members based on their support for the bail out bill... We need to place good RP certified replacements as we can do so, but getting the paid off seat warmers out is the most important.

Here's the problem.. We have very little time to do something about this. There just aren't enough RP-certified candidates to replace all of the seats up for grabs. Not to mention how much of a head start the 2 main candidates have had in getting their names out... What can we do?

You do not wait for RP certs - just replacing the seats is a large step in the right direction... then ID the RP Certified and support them as they are found.

The whole reason they can defy the US people is that they feel safe in their seats... if you kick the majority out it would make their replacements think twice.

We do it one at a time.

Support those that have a real shot first.

For those congressmen that are "closet" Ron Paul conservatives and are already in office, we need to reach out to them, inform them, and support them for doing the right thing and standing up for the People. But also make it clear that they will be replaced if they don't.

I've said this before but there are actually quite a few decent congressmen. We don't need to replace EVERYONE. 171 people voted against the bailout bill for one reason or another, and of those there are still quite a few that did it for the right reasons. We may not agree with them on everything but we need to help them on their ideological journey. Many of us have gone through that journey and it has taken time.

Next, we need to make lists of those that need to be replaced and refine that list further by identifying those that are most vulnerable. From there we need to start NOW to groom our replacement and build the network needed to get them into Congress in 2 years and again in 4 years.

We don't need a majority yet. We just need enough people with the courage to stand up and speak for what is right. We need people who will support true conservative and Constitutional principles. Let them know that we will always support them and they don't have to worry about their jobs if they continue to defend the Constitution.

It will take time but we need to start with those that have a real shot at winning THIS election and make sure we don't squander an opportunity to pick up another seat in Congress.

For certain we should be throwing out any who voted for the bailout.

Since Oblahma will likely win we better vote Republican and try to get back Congress. Maybe some new Repubs will help slow down the socialism.

Do you really want Oblahma AND a Democratic Congress? :) :p

I like this thread. An effective, pratical plan will help push liberty back into the limelight.

1. This November, vote bailout supporters out.
2. Even if they opposed the bailout, they may have supported the PATRIOT Act, FISA, etc. Vote them out too.
3. The extreme minority that is liberty minded must be brought into the movement. If not, 2 years until next election.
4. Identify liberty candidates for the 2010 elections and get them in office
5. Identify liberty candidates for 2012 and get them in office

Through all of this remember that education is the key. We must educate the population. All politics is local so we can all start in our circle of friends, neighbors and co-workers. Educating the masses on liberty is the only legitmate chance we have to making a change in our country.

Yeah, I have talked to so many people this week who have just tacitly accepted the bailout. When I mention I'm against it, the first question is, "well, what should the government have done?" It's like everyone jumps to the conclusion that the government *had* to do something. I just don't get that philosophy. :(

forget about try to "retake" the whole Federal Gov.....there are more people out there that want "BIG gov." to take care of them!!!!

People should concentrate on taking over a STATE of the UNION....which can be SOVEREIGN and give the FEDS the FINGER.... this is POSSIBLE almost IMMEADIATELY with enough freedom lovers moving there and then electing the government (Paul as Governor sound good??).

Then this state can show the rest of the socialist states of America what real Liberty, sound money, etc. can do as an EXAMPLE.

The whole enchilada ain't gonna happen....there are enough idiots out there on board with Al Gore and the "green" movement, the war on terror, etc. and etc. that BIG GOV STATISM isn't going anywhere...in fact this DEPRESSION will probably result in the BANKERS getting MORE CONTROL and POWER!!!! and NEW DEAL II under OBAMA (look out private property).
