The NRA isn't even for gun rights anymore.

I think this was done because McCain has more of a chance than Barr. Not because McCain is the champion of gun owners.

The NRA did the right thing? And here I thought the NRA convinced people to give them money so they could do the right thing by gun owners. No one but the willfully uninformed could possibly think McCain is the right thing for gun owners.

There's no percentage in encouraging the G.O.P. to move the wrong direction just because they still have a (very) little way to go to take over the 'lesser of two evils' slot on this particular issue. Honestly.

The NRA is actually an anti gun organization. The members are very pro gun but the organization leaders are actually anti gun.

If you think that %0 > %0.

Outside of some horrible unforeseen circumstances, McCain has THE SAME chance as Barr (and Baldwin and McKinney and Nader).

I think angelatc inadvertently explained it perfectly. To many, NRA=GOP. Fortunately, many people are waking up to the fact that NRA=GOP=gun control.

If that's their criteria, they should be endorsing Obama.

NRA=anti gun. Once movements or ideologies get institutionalized or turned into organizations, they lose their meaning and way. They no longer stand for what they are supposed to represent.

DECENTRALIZATION + BOTTOM UP = WAY FORWARD FOR THE R3VOLUTION

It's not a matter of WHO will win. It's a matter of WHO has a chance to win, AND, WHO supports gun rights more. In that case, it's McCain. I didn't say it makes much sense, since he's got a snowballs chance in hell of winning. I'm just stating what I believe they're thinking. I didn't say it makes much sense at this point.

What about Gun Owners of America? Are they are pro-2nd ammendment as they seem? Are they a viable alternative to the NRA?

The question should be...

How much MONEY, FAVORS, LEGISLATION, did the McCain Campaign promis for the ENDORSEMENT?

It's all about money and almost EVERYONE, has a 'PRICE'!
