HCR 2034:If Martial Law, Arizona Will Secede
Marc Chung sends in a very interesting tidbit of information covering Arizona bill HCR 2034: ”
abolish federal government; state sovereignty”. More specifically the bill covers the situation in which the US government declares marshal law then Arizona will join with 34 or more (majority) of states and declare their own independence from the Union… interesting (especially with election time around the corner and conspiracies about that Bush/Cheney empire would do something in order to declare marshal law to avoid the election):

As you can see, I prefer the Bennington. It manages to convey unmistakable patriotism without conforming to the government standard at all. It's easier to see at night or from a distance. And between the '76' and the white stripes on the top and bottom, it isn't that hard to distinguish from the gov'mint version even if furled.

Sorry. All five 'Civilized Tribes' fought for the CSA, but I've already ordered three Benningtons nonetheless.

Calm down, folks.

I hate to be a killjoy, but this Bill was introduced like, 8 years ago, way back from the Clinton days.

Someone probably googled "martial law" and "secession" on the internet, and this popped up as a result, so they slapped it on some blog.

Unless someone can show me that the AZ legislature is currently acting to revive this bill, I'm going to just assume that the state that gave us McCain the Maverick is not likely to break away from the Bush regime any time soon. Remember guys, the ardent neoconservatives will probably look at martial law as being necessary for our security (sacrifice liberty for security = deserve neither). They might revive this if Obama wins, but . . .

(NO offense intended to any Arizona free-thinkers who don't support John McCain)

The bill says when joined by 34 other states. This does not mean that there are other states already signed up. It is just setting the bar for what it would take for Arizona to secede.
