I thought Obama was a somewhat well-intending socialist. But I have been reading some articles lately (link to an example) and it appears that he is nothing more than a front man for a hugely sinister Wall Street and military hegemony scheme intended to further bankrupt the U.S. and attempt to totally destroy China and Russia.

Am I being brainwashed or is there some truth in this stuff?

P.S. Don't get me wrong, nothing will cause me to stray from my 3rd Party vote..McCain is obviously unacceptable...

It's just that I'm starting to feel more and more naive...

Its true he is owned by Soros.. that is a clue that Marijuana and cocaine will be legalized under Obama. not that that would allow me to vote for him but Soros is very pro legalization.

You and ~50 MILLION other voters. ;)

You and ~50 MILLION other voters.

I would disagree. Polls accurately confirm that about 100 million voters are not feeling sufficiently duped and angry enough to vote for a candidate other than McCain or Obama.

Are you suggesting that another candidate will prevent Obama and McCain from getting a mojority of electoral votes?

do not underestimate the ron paul write ins.

Do not overestimate them. Most of them will neither be counted nor reported, as he has not registered as a write-in candidate. They will serve no purpose other than to give you the satisfaction of having 'voted' for someone worthwhile.

Vote for Baldwin or Barr, or if you must, Nader or McKinney.

do not underestimate the ron paul write ins.

RP write-ins in here in California will not even be counted, since he is not a "registered" write-in candidate. It is not possible to underestimate the number of votes for RP in CA. It's officially zero.

Do you know how many (if any) states will count a Ron Paul write-in? I do not. It would be interesting to know. I'm guessing few or none. I doubt that it would be enough for sufficient electoral votes.

FORGET WRITE IN VOTES FOR RON PAUL...If you remember Ron Paul requested his name be taken OFF of the ballots in states where RP supporters managed to get them put on. HE DOES NOT WANT TO BE THE PRESIDENT! Why can't people accept that???? The contest is between McCain and Obama...that is IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TONES

The thing is, there's no real "contest" between Obama and McCain, since their platforms are both wrought with many of the same unacceptable evils.

Why vote for one of the two schmucks that the military/industrial/media complex shoves in your face? A vote for either one of these is a vote against the welfare of the citizens.

It's okay to grow the alternatives one vote at a time. Why should the Republicans change if they know they are going to get your vote anyway? You can still go to your local Republican Party meetings and grow the party with freedom platforms, but they don't deserve to govern if they are hurting the citizens. You can love your child, but you still might not let them have dessert until they eat their vegetables.
Why not be specific at the local meetings about what platforms must happen, at a minimum, before you will vote Republican again? Then there might be an incentive for these people to accept significant freedom platforms. Especially if there's a whole crowd of you there with the same strategy. Perhaps the status quo members might sincerely wish to entertain your voices of change, in order to grow the party and make it stronger and more in touch with its traditional values.

If yours was the only vote in the U.S. for a 3rd Party it would be an ethical choice. And a strategic choice.

But, hey, what about this evidence that Obama is owned by a freaked out Dr. Strangelove that will send us all in to thermonuclear confrontation and endless skimishes around the planet?

And get, like, Gosh Darn Maverickie! And stuff.

But seriously, any body else want to comment on the real behind the scenes agendas of Obama's handlers? See link in OP.

The banning books issue was a liberal lie smear..she never wanted to ban any books. She asked the head librarian if she would ban books if she were requested to..that is all. No book list for banning ever. This is the liberal SMEAR MACHINE. tones

So, you're hoping that McCain will suddenly die? Not very sound reasoning, says I. :p
