They were just asked, I believe, who they would appoint as Treasury Secretary, and they both said Warren Buffett was a good choice.

Do you agree?

Are they going to make him unwind his short position on the dollar?

Buffet is a very skilled gambler when it comes to pickin winners. That doesnt mean he understands jack shit about monetary policy.

I have friends who awesome at picking the winners of football games....that doesnt mean they could actually coach an NFL team into the Super Bowl!

Buffet is also a Bilderberg member in league with the globalists.

If TPTB think it's a good idea, then you can feel confident that its bad for you.

They sound more like running mates than opponents.

Anyone nominated other than Ron Paul or Peter Schiff would be a wash.

Agree that they may appoint Buffet...? Doubt it, I heard it on CNBC.

Agree with the selection; you think Buffett would make a good Treasury Secretary.

Warren Buffets first announcement as treasury secretary: "The United States Treasury has contracted the Chinese Treasury to print all US currency."

Both said that he'd "be a good choice" neither agreed to pick anyone. McCain also mentioned Meg Whitman, eBay's CEO from 1998 to March 2008.

i voted no... but i suppose he couldn't be any worse than paulson.

it's like asking me to pick between obama and mccain... i know the country is going to be destroyed anyways... so what does it matter.

it's like changing the captain of the titanic after it already hit the ice burg... at this point, we all just have to get into the few remaining life boats.

Hell no! That would be the equivalent of making a crack dealer the head of the war on drugs because he has a lot of experience with drugs.

Buffet said in an interview last week that he thinks Paulson is doing a great job and should be the Treasury Sec for the next administration! lol...and he said that Paulson is taking on a tremendous physical burden with the bailout and he totally respects him.

I don't necessarily see Buffett as a good Treasury Secretary (would be better as an informal Presidential economic adviser with an ear on Wall Street AND Main Street as opposed to another Washington bureaucrat IMHO). That said... give the man his due... he's no "lucky gambler". He's the personification of long-term "value investing" and places an immense premium on research. There's always a bit of luck involved... but he has made a lot if for himself.
