India's banks are going to suffer. I would suspect banks like ICICI or anyone who's funded the red hot the real estate market to have troubles after the cool off there.

Real estate in India has gone up 10-20x in the last few handful of years. Real Estate in Bombay is currently unaffordable.

Ack! This will make Pakistanis more jealous and determined to undermine Democracy! We must invade now before they strike us with nuclear weapons of mass destruction!

So....have the 9/11 attacks not only brought down the US economy (like Osama bin Laden predicted we would self destruct per the destruction of 'civil liberties' by the gov't and media) but the rest of the world at the same time???

Great. Nothing like having a 3rd world bankrupt country with nukes.

the US economy was destined to fall with or without 9/11. I just think 9/11 sped up the process tremendously.

You'd almost think that it was planned by the powers that be, rather than some guy in a cave ;)

I don't know if we were destined to fall. 9/11 was the rationale behind 2 foreign wars, the creation of the real estate boom and massive increases in the size of our government. This has all been a huge drag on the economy, obviously.

We probably would have continued in the same direction, but it would have been more likely that things would have turned around before we passed the point of no return as it would have happened much more gradually, and people would not have been blinded by a false sense of patriotism that means don't question anything.

Nothing like bombing a bankrupt 3rd world ally who has nukes.

...after bombing, invading, and occupying a country that supposedly had WMD's that we helped them acquire.

Seems like a good time to buy a country. Perhaps I'll pick up Pakistan.

You credit them with far too much intelligence and competence.
