If an ounce of gold is going to meet the DOW, I'm thinking it will happen lower than $5000. Gold won't catch up to the DOW as quickly as it can drop. So my guess would be more like $2500-3500. But what the hell do i know. :-)

Look, Beck believes in a archeologically, historically, paleontologically proven-false fairytale of a stolen novel called A Manuscript Found by Solomon Spalding we now call the Book or Mormon. Anyone who believes such a well-debunked myth as a religion is no better intellectually than a baked potato. And now he's worked out the economy we treat him as a friend? The guy is brainwashed.

Doesn't Ron Paul believe in fairy tales too? (the bible)

The Bible has stood up to intense scrutiny both in the sciences and in linguistics. I don't see the Bible as a fairy tale. The Bible has lead to the very real physical discovery of an incredible number of places that were thought to either be fairy tales, like David's Temple, and even just a few days ago a goblet was unearthed that bears the name of Jesus (see: http://benwitherington.blogspot.com/2008/10/more-on-christ-cup.html) that is shaking the archeological field as did they ossuary box a few years back which has now been proven to be genuine. I hardly think the Book of Mormon and the Bible should be considered as being anything remotely alike in their ability to stand on their own words. Modern archeologist looking for ancient ruins use the Bible as a map. Things are where it says they are, unlike the Book of Mormon which has NEVER ONCE been right on things such as the location of places described within its pages.

The problem with Christians that try to use logic and historical facts to prove the bible is that the logic and facts stop when people bring up other stories in the bible, like how does a human survive living in a whale ? Or, my favorite Noah's Ark - for one, it would have taken several years to load the millions of animal specials onto an ark the size of ???? There are a million insect species alone.
http://www.abarnett.demon.co.uk/atheism/noahs_ark.html

Please don't insult non bible believers by running with a few sketchy historical "proofs" and saying the rest is based on faith.

Here's a post I made on the Mises Forum (http://mises.org/Community/forums/t/4195.aspx) (which I've yet to have a reply ). I stand corrected about someone suggesting interest rates be raised. All three agreed on that point tonight on Glenn Beck. It is a great contrast. But this is a really interesting show I saw today talking about the same issue:

As most people on this forum probably know the debate amongst free market economists about the cause of the Great Depression has always been whether the money supply was too loose (Austrians) or too tight (Chicago School Monetarists). This post is pretty long so please bear with me I hope it's worthwhile.

Earlier to day I watched Kudlow and Company and Larry Kudlow (who strangely is listed as an adjunct professor with the Mises Institute http://mises.org/faculty.aspx) basically says that the recent infusion of money via Friedman's Monetarist Theory (his own terminology!) will stave off any Great Depression. He repeats his enthusiasm with the infusion roughly 6 or 7 times throughout the program. This period seems like a clear monetarist empirical case to me and definitely an event in which Austrian theory should be able to predict the consequences. I think this is an historic chance for us to witness who is correct: the Chicago School or the Austrians.

What really surprised me is that Mark Skousen (who I know is aware of the Austrian position and I originally thought favored it) was also on the show and seems to give his assent to the infusion without completely endorsing it. I really suggest (and even ask that) people watch the videos at the following links. I think I'm going to try to get a copy of the show as well. This is pretty remarkable in my opinion. I'm not an economist but I'd like to see what some of those who are Austrian inclined have to say.

It'd also be great if a real Austrian economist could write up an article or even a blog post about this material. I wish there was enough pull to have an Austrian economist show up on Kudlow's show itself. I mean I thought Skousen would have done the job but I guess he feared being labeled out of the mainstream. Kudlow also has people like Don Luskin on the show quite often and links to him on his shows page (http://www.cnbc.com/id/15838446) so it's unfortunate there is no one calling for at least a tightning of the Fed (if not the radical position of returning to the gold standard).

Also why isn't Volcker's tightning of the fed during an economic crisis referenced at all. In my opinion it's what saved the economy and led to the recovery by removing the excess credit. Instead they're all yelping for more credit when they should (if they want to work within the system we have) tighten. I haven't even seen Austrians even talking about this.

Anyway here are the video's. I've listed the relevant times but if you have time to watch them in full it's worth it b/c Kudlow and his guest say some other interesting things.

The most in depth discussion: “The Fed Actions Today” @5:45 http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=880174889

Another mention of the money supply: “Market Drilldown” @1:45 and 3:15 http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=880193037

Mark Skousen and Money Supply and then Kudlow saying “I don't give a hoot about inflation”: “How to Play This Market” http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=880207664

Here is the generic link for the latest videos from CNBC: http://www.cnbc.com/id/15839263/?tabid=15839796&tabheader=false

Also doesn't Kudlow always sound like a shill for the economy? It comes out even more in this show.

Thanks, Im trying. I have two other projects Im working on as well, all by my lonesome. Adding what I can, as I can. I just watched it again myself, and I am quite impressed with the editting job I did. Not to brag, but I did it poretty fast, and was afraid some things might have slipped through. :) I'm hoping eventually people will use this site instead of youtube, since I will not be censoring Ron Paul, and there is no 10 min limit on videos. :)

Sorry, server got hit hard. Seems original content is a major traffic magnet. :) Not a bad thing mind you. Video already has over 1700 views and counting. Going to see about increasing the bandwidth. Supposed to be back boned with 13gbs, which is phenomenal, and still didnt seem to be enough. If all else fails, you can always hit the download button and watch it locally. Just need an FLV viewer, there are lots of them out there.
