The relatively high numbers of voters who say they're going to cast a ballot for someone other than Obama or McCain affirms Colorado's unpredictable bursts of independence, where third parties are often popular.
In 1992, for example, 22 percent of voters went for Ross Perot in Colorado Springs. In the Denver suburbs, that number was 25 percent.
Barr campaign manager Russell Verney said the candidate will visit the state again before November. The campaign is gathering steam from the $700 billion financial bailout, which Libertarians abhor, Verney said. . .
