Wish I had your optimism, or naivete, unfortunately, when you look at a bunch of other things about him, it fits. I really figured he had McCain waxed pretty hard, but the more time goes by the more his idiotic bs comes out, not that there was ever a shortage...:)

I've thought for a long time McCain is a war mongering idiot, and was sorta for Obama(I'd NEVER VOTE for him) figuring at least he might get a few less of us killed, but he's being controlled by the same people that control McCain, so there will really be no difference in the wars we end up in. I'm beginning to wonder if Obama is somewhat like the Blacks in South Africa, cause this makes it look like he wants to start a war HERE, against US. Unfortunately, I think too many Christians do not "get it". My dh was an agnostic years ago, who took up the challenge of reading to find out what I believed at the time (I grew up Southern Baptist)...in part to prove me wrong. What a journey....we were surprised on two counts...he now believes the Bible, but also believes the Christian church for the most part is not at all following it. He realized that is what always turned him off, the church contradicting the actual Bible. He opened my eyes up to the second part. We started studying history...a lot changed after 3 AD. We are now uncomfortable saying we are "Christian" as that doesn't fit. Our creator never contradicted himself...the church did and does today (Paul's writings in particular are totally misread). Christmas, Easter, and so many other misguided practices exist. We have had a westernized church preaching a prosperity doctrine that the masses lapped up, whether they be on the so-called left or right. Too many of these Christians have bought into the pre-tribulation rapture theory too....how convenient. While I would like that in theory, the more we study, the more we cannot find any basis for it. Although I have peace about the overall picture, I do dread the times ahead...and I do not really think the average "Christian" has a clue...they think they'll surely be gone before anything bad happens....and they may be in for a shock. Personally, I think freedom loving atheists and agnostics will catch on much quicker than many Christians. I think I read somewhere that when Hitler took power, around three-quarters of the churches followed him....only about a quarter took a stand. I could see the same thing here....whether it be Obama, McCain, or some other fascist/socialist personality in the world arena. Watching many Christian friends and family blindly buy into the lies from the left and the right makes me realize how spiritually devoid this country really has become lately.
