Let them keep saying things like that. They think it works in their favor to convey confidence of passage prior to the vote, but I think it does just the opposite in this case in that it makes the ones who are on the fence feel like they can let go of this hot potato and vote against it.

They kept saying they were certain it was going to pass in the house the first time, as well.
