Alright, enough is enough. We have to remind these assholes why they are there. There are less than 600 hundred of the bastards in office and we should FLOOD their offices with copies of the constitution. Not only should we flood their offices but it should be done simultaneously. We should have all the copies mailed out at once so they arrive at approximately the same time. I have a bunch of copies here but (obviously) not enough. So, we need to coordinate. We need to make this MASSIVE. Who believes this is a good idea? I consider it sort of a protest but with the constitution. We NEED to do this. Who's with me and how do we coordinate it?

Here is one idea. I have a fax machine and I'm sure that many of you use online fax services. We could begin by faxing them copies of the constitution! But I still want to do a mass mailing.

They should be ripped in half.

Constitutions?

Nope.

Anyone ever see the movie "she-devil?"

Remember the photocopy that was sent to the wife?

:D

Yeah, but that doesn't change the image that we should flood their offices with.

:p

I told you I thought it was a good idea, as long as you tore them up before mailing.

I think the idea is good, but we need to provide more info. We need to focus in on the section/s that forbid this type of action. This also needs to be spread around the net too, so people can learn.

A guy I work with suggested we photocopy all our bills and send them to Congress demanding our bailout.

I like the idea of burying them under mountains of bills . . .

I just want to remind them, in no uncertain terms, the oath of office that they took:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

I think the fax idea may be more efficient...Here's a link to a PDF of the Constitution that condenses it to 2 pages:

I think receiving a deluge of thousands of copies of the constitution by U.S. mail all at the same time might have MORE of an impact - but I'm all for faxing it as well. Mine was 9 pages (including the NO BAILOUT cover page). Fax and no long distance fees = don't care how many pages. :D

It would be helpful if people would disabuse themselves of the lingering magical thinking that, despite it all, somehow, some way, the government is on the side of the people. The Sitting Officials who ignore you now have made it ABUNDANTLY clear that they simply don't care. Their own livelihoods and careers take precedence. It is NOT that, if you get the rhetoric to soar just right and enough people to say the same, they will graciously hand over power.

No one hands over power.

Power is established. Power is maintained. Power is increased. Power is traded. Power is brokered. Power is lost. But power is never given away...except as rights, by people without power.

Isolate a couple of companies for nationwide boycott, then, to send a message.

McDonald's, say. What creature of comfort can't go a week without McDonald's, and then another week? On the contrary, it would be the Healthy Choice. McDonald's can scarcely claim an inability to make ends meet.

Give 'em notice. Be polite. Tell 'em what's what, so they don't have a full staff of employees standing around not knowing how to make change.

Conversely, pick one day of the week that everyone scales back as much as possible on EVERYTHING. Hump day, indeed.

Impacting bottom line...or scaring the bejeezus out of THEM, the way they do us...THAT'S what makes Moneyed Interests responsive.

We need to get enough people together to convince them that if they DON'T play ball, then they will lose their jobs (and their power).
