When we call (or contact in some other way) our Representatives and Senators, why not ask whoever answers if the Senator or Representative they work for could please cite the precise Constitutional authorization for this bailout?

That might make for some interesting responses.

Pretty sure they will just throw "General Welfare" at you and hang up the phone.

Yeah, quite possibly, but if we could start getting actual quotes from our Congresspeople and/or their offices wrongly claiming authorization from particular sections of the Constitution, we'd have something to work with. We could quote these guys in the media, write responses from a strict constitutionalist perspective, get our responses published in local newspapers, etc. It's more about starting a real debate and exposing to our fellow Americans just how unconstitutional our government's actions really are.
