Anyone else get that warning? What script are they running that would set that off? I KNOW they are NOT PHISHING but wtf?

It was on my McAfee that was picking it up.

Maybe you are talking about this? We are still obtaining a domain and security certificate to go with it. You may send information over a secure protocol, but until our certificate matches the campaignforliberty.com domain you will get warnings from your web browser.

I use FF3 and everything is running fine. You might have an addon installed that crawls links on a page ahead of time (it might have crawl one of the page that lacks the certificate).

It was a phishing warning. It said phishing warning, maybe it was from one of my virus scanners.

here is what I get when I go to campaign for liberty. COM

FireFox beats IE all the time. IE does nothing but crash. Firefox on the other hand, has never crashed on me.

I see the same. That isn't necessarily a problem.

Firefox is the Ron Paul of web browsers :D

IE is the Corporate-owned John McCain of web browsers.

It is showing the IP address and not campaignforliberty.com

The ip address is what is making it give the phishing warning.
It does this because it is a standard tactic to have the link say something like: bank of america (http://127.0.0.1) but it really goes to a phishing site (which is quite often an ip address)

Once they get the ip address redirects/links all worked out I would expect this warning message to go away.

I got a certificate warning on the secure sign up page, and then, after I told IE to go ahead... it didn't show any encryption for the page.

torchbearer

This is the secure sign up page: https://70.32.73.101/signup.php
I don't know why they don't make it the default sign up page... who wouldn't want encryption when sending a credit card number?

That probablyisn't what it said.

They are using a self-signed certificate for their encryption. The content will still be completely encrypted between your browser and the server. The only difference is they didn't pay one of the certificate registrar authorities to "validate" it. Self-signed certs are just as secure, you just have to be confident that you are on the correct site and the company you are paying is not a scam.

Edit: the warning you see is just the browser telling you that they have no way of authenticating the site using the ssl, not that the content isn't encrypted.

click on the https: link takes you back to the http: link is that still secure?
https://70.32.73.101/signup.php takes you to -> http://70.32.73.101/signup.php#.

It the url starts with https:// that means it is going through ssl encryption. If it is just http:// then the connection is NOT encrypted.

You are correct. The "Click here to switch to a secure sign-up form if you wish." isn't working. They need to fix that ASAP, what is this amateur hour?

The only reason I haven't signed up for precinct leader is because I wasn't certain the form was secure.
Maybe tomorrow then....

Did you email them to let them know of the problem?
Because as it is right now is the most deceptive.
ie: you click the link that says "Click here to switch to a secure sign-up form if you wish." and it doesn't actually do what it says.

Using the self-signed ssl is ok, but how they have it now is really bad.

I tried Chrome, didn't like it. Perhaps when they get add-on support I'll give it another try.

Even then, I feel like I'm using Google a bit too much.

Gmail, Calenders, Docs, Maps, et al.
