Why isn't Obama talking about the Keating Five???

Isn't that a knock out punch right now?

What?? McCain's suspending his campaign to meddle in financial affairs? That's exactly what no one should want McCain meddling in, regardless of how they feel about socialism or free markets.

Isn't now or the last week the perfect time for Obama to introduce the nation to John McCain the crook? John McCain the buddy of crooked bankers?

Now, I'd expect it from an honest media too, but obviously not the one we have.

So, what's shutting Obama up?

Because that would be a real issue.

Better to argue over lipstick piggies, and who is the bigger celebrity, and who has a bailout plan that better protects the taxpayers....and argue over which party is more responsible for the financial mess.

But yeah, the fact that he isn't bringing it up (probably based on the advice of his handlers) reinforces the contrived nature of these 'elections' and 'debates'.

probably waiting to use it as his counter for when/if mccains starts bringing up wright/rezko/ayers again

also it's kind of early to use that, especially when he's in such a commanding lead currently

I have wondered this myself. Maybe the Rockefellers have declared that issue "off the table" for the election. And they are just being good little foot soldiers.

In politics, you can't go for the throat if the other guy has a knife.
Meaning, Obama has his own "keating five" skeleton in his closet.
McCain holds on to that card to keep the other from being played.
As in nuclear war, it would be mutually assured destruction.

Isn't one of Obama's economic advisers Frank Raines??? Wasn't he involved with some kind of Fannie Mae scandal? Maybe that's why he doesn't talk about the Keating 5.

If torchbearer is right, that just doesn't sound big enough... at least not to me. What else could there be?

I'm not sure what it is... only speculation.
But you don't jump up the ranks of politics as fast as Obama without selling your soul along the way...

Obama won't talk about it because it won't help him. It happened 20 years ago, McCain was cleared and he has already said that he was sorry what happened and has learned from the experience. As far as politics go it's ancient history. If McCain were smart he would bring up Wright, Ayers, Raines and all that. I don't think that Keating 5 could ever really hurt McCain at this point.

Perhaps Barack has just been "paid off" not to mention it.

Hm.... You explained a lot. Thanks for the post.

The same reason he won't talk about McCain's other scandals ("Campaign Finance Reform", his support for illegal aliens, etc.). It's all a stupid, rigged game, same as it always has been.
